M5board.com E92 M3 vs RS4 vs 335i vs... +20

For those who don't know M5 Board raced the new M3 vs 20 other cars keep your eye on the thread below.I'm just posting info I've seen I wasn't there at the event just sharing.

http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...48#post1169948

This is a quote from a member on another board that race his 335.Thanks "HeartWare"

"Here are my results:
Vishnu V1 beats:

M3 CSL –win by 5~ cl
M3 CS- win by huge ., even the cameramen lost trace.
Z4 M – Win by 5~ cl

BMW M3 V8 E92 – Even up till fifth gear-> Pulled 1 cl and stayed till finish
Modded M5 430hp Had a lead by 1-2 crl. Until my speed limit.
Got caught up until the end.
Have a video which shows it …. Really sick. (need speed limit delete.)

Lost:
BMW M5 E60 Touring – lost by 5~ crl. (bad shift points)

(quote: Pea)
Vishnu V2 beat the following cars
BMW M3 V8 E92 by 5-10 cl
Porsce carrera 4 by 5~ cl
Audi RS 4 07 by 5 ~cl
SL55 amg by 5_10 ~cl

BMW M5 E60 Touring = it was equal

I lost
Bmw m6 by 5~ cl
Porsche 911 turbo by 5~ cl

I did beat the porsche up to C.a 200-220 km by 2-3 cl then he passed me
The M6 was equal up to 200-220 then he pulled away

We did several runs to confirm the results.
Basically, PEA took on the big guys, and I took care of the rest.
Great teamwork.

What we had in common is that both cars need top end power above 220km/h
Both cars need premium fuels. Right shift points are crucial!

I have some heartbreaking pictures coming up. So... for those weak hearted or hard headed. Remember this is not a competition. It is only a benchmark!"

Saw this as well.. looks like future M3 owners are gonna be playing catch up right after they drive off the lot to the chipped 335's.. sucks.

I found this quote interesting from a guy at the event:

"From 50-200km/h the 335i is very strong.
Not even a 997 turbo can touch it."

T-minus 10-9-8 until a 997tt driver on this board calls BS.

I can't wait to see that video!

I dont know if I'd jump to the BS call.. these things are making some serious power to the wheels.. from a roll, who knows what can happen when you start upping the boost and changing the fuel.. 335 is the tuners sleeper of the yr. in my book..

I was there, and yes the modded 335:s were the suprise of the day. Incredible stuff, even though one of them consistently went into limp-mode after 200kmh. The other was running R-tyres on the rear. My brother rode in this one (4-door) and yes, it's very impressive stuff however you view it.

No doubt this car will be an M3-competitor in terms of speed. If it is in terms of sensation, sound and whole package I'll leave up for discussion..

Turbo was not running in full "drag race" mode, it was running with anti-spin etc on several of the runs. So no, it wasn't a full-out kill at all, but it was a big surprise nonetheless.

id like to see the 997TT vs 335, but then again, youre talking about a stock 997TT vs a heavily modded 335...you just cant compare stock vs modded...that said, im sure its possible for a 335 to beat a 997TT with tons of work, but even just a flash on the 997TT the 335s more than likely done.

oh jez...those 335i guys most be getting a big head...

The car is fast...but with the chip, the car puts down like what, 330-340whp? Maybe? The car is still 3500 lbs and its not like its adding 100whp...Give me a break...

i dont think all this guy had was a chip. if youre keeping up with the cars it did, it had to have been worked a good amount more than just a flash.

All I see is Vishnu V1...which I assume is Version 1 of their software...and V2 is Version 2...unless that is how Vishnu does his Staged modifications...even still...what is major modifications? Exhaust? Unless it has a small shot, then theres no way its pulling 5-10 car lengths on a CSL or a RS4...come on...thats just ridiculous...

I was there as well. I'm not sure exactly what hp the most powerful 335 got but they were both seriously fast and yes only a few cars at the meet could keep up with them. videos will be up in a while

I'm hearing that V2+exhaust 335i's can make 390whp...how in the hell is it making that much power? I thought they were only making 330-340whp...
