E36 Turbo M3 runs 9's @ 145mph.

Finally a BMW made it to a good track with a good setup in the US.

A built turbo E36 M3 making less then 700rwhp to the wheels (ill get the exact numbers soon, last i heard 650rwhp) just ran a 9.92 @ 145 mph. The car weighs roughly about 3400lb's and was running MT ET drag tires.

Another turbo E36 BMW (a 328i) ran a 148mph trap speed.

I wanted the Porsche guys to see this, oh well..

My car does not have a time yet. With the same tires and track i would expect great results as well.

What's to call BS on? a stock E36 weighs right around 3300 pounds with a full tank of gas. I'm assuming that car has some weight reduction plus driver, 3400 is a believable number.

I knew you would be the first to call BS on a fast BMW.

Well its not BS, the car is setup right for it.

I love BMW's, don't get it twisted. I beleive that the car ran what it ran.
I just don't beleive that a 3400lbs car with less than 700hp ran that, that's all.

+1...the hp/weight just doesn't make sense.

Would love to see a video though.

I am trying to get more details, from what i heard now is a 750 crank HP number. Also it looks like it weighs 3300lb's or so. This car is running a drag wheel/tire setup.

Awesome, thanks for the vid.

Car hooked up decently, and trapped 145MPH.

Numbers work in my head. I'd bet it's pretty close the 700rwhp mark though. I assume it's still a street car, or occasional street car. Love it...

EDIT
Did a bit of snooping. Looks like he ran the car a month or so with seats, etc. in the car. Hard to tell from the pics I saw. In the above pics, looks like no rear seats, no passenger seat, and a racing seat.
