Black or Grey over Cinnamon or Imola would be my choices for the "classiest" combos.

E46 M3's are getting VERY cheap these days. Mid/low-20's to low-30's seems to be the norm for "average" used examples.

I prefer manual. That being said, in any new Ferrari I'd go F1 (and Stradale haha.. duh).

Damn you Joe, you've totally screwed my head up haha. I'm calling my BMW sales guy to set up a test drive in a 335i. My buddy has one but he was the first one in Canada supposedly with Procede. He put down about 400lb/ft at the wheels. if I remember correctly. I posted his dyno a while ago on here. So his is no good at comparing to M3s.

My concern with the 335i is the lack of an LSD. In the E36 I had a 3.15 LSD and it was my favourite mod.

I still have to try out an SMG but a friend bought one and said nothing but good things about it and he's a fine manual driver.

Talking

Alpine White with Cinnamon interior is the way to go (it's like a Peanut Butter and Fluff sandwich that'll kick your a$$).

Oh man, it's the M3 for sure. Just got back from driving one at my dealer. It was awesome. It's a 2006 Steel Grey on Cinnamon SMG ZHP package. The kicker is, it has 3000km on it and it's still a new car as it was never sold to anyone. It's a zero owner car. Thing is, they were asking 67k for it. Granted it was in amazing shape, it's 3000km and a zero owner but I can't justify that with the new M3 just around the corner for very similar money.

I drove the M3 and 335 and after the M3 the 335 was so boring. The torque was nice but it was a completely different animal. For cruising though it is a MACHINE, I can see how someone could log some looooong distance trips in it for sure.

My thoughts on SMG. Honestly, I didn't want to like it, I've heard everyone's *****ing and moaning about it and went into it expecting it to be rubbish but within 15 minutes I was sold on it. It's smooth when you want it to be smooth, and it's ridiculously quick when you want it. There's just something about the M3 that made me think, "this is it" and I didn't really get that with the 335.

The 335 is the right choice for me. It's comfortable, quite quick, has all the toys, and it's the newest body style. Sadly, I've never been a sensible person and that's why I'll be in an M3 quite soon.

Oh and Brad, that's an amazing example. Looks gorgeous.

Thanks man, oh and by the way I totally agree on your opinion about the 335 vs. M3. You have found yourself amidst one of the most fun decisions a car guy can fathom... fast versus fast. haha

Carbon Black/Imola is my first choice and my first E46 M3 combo color

Carbon Black/Black is my 2nd M3 color

Silver Grey/Imola is my 3rd

here are the other color combo that i think its hot
Carbon Black / LSB (very rare)
Phoenix Yellow/ Kiwi
LSB/LSB
AW/ Imola

btw, i also find the M3 is much more exciting to drive compare to the 335i. 335i is fast, but lacks excitement the M3 brings. just revving the M3 up just brings smile to your face!! the E46 is still my favorite car of all. i just love the independent throttle body sound....

there is one thing i notice about the M3 and not so much on other cars (ferrari is probably the only example i can think of), the M3 hates to be driven slowly around the city, shifting below 3000RPM etc... there is just an emotion the car tells me, it just doesnt feel happy when u drive it like that. the car feels like its sick and tired, but when u fire it up a bit, the SMG gets much more responsive and the car felt like it has waken up.

Ferrari's can be exceptionally docile around town... although they are much better at speed.

LSD--I still have a TON of fun with my open diff.

Enjoy your M3, it is a spectacular car!

Alpine White was hot, but Silver Gray is starting to really grow on me.
