i know what you mean...i dont track my cars either (although id like to go 1-2 times a yr) and for my current e46 m3 i did H&R springs with koni adj shocks and the ride is amazing and handling is def better than stock. i do LOVE the stance of your 335 and may end up going this route again, but KW coils are tempting.

Nice cars. In real live driving, do you reckon the 335 can keep up with the Aston?

ugh i dont think so. the aston has a .1 second better 0-60. 4.8 versus 4.7. but the 335i would beat it with a turbo tuner. im not gonna even bring up the procede cuz i hate the side effects of the procede and i like the plug and play factor of the turbo tuner. and the aston would cream the 335i in the corners

i was actually talking about your car with the procede in the straights...does the aston really handle THAT well? ive never heard rave things about their handling. they weigh 3600-3700 lbs...its quite heavy. im sure the 335 with springs or even coilovers would turn that around.
i remember the 997S went up against the AM V8 vantage and m6 and crushed them both in a handling course.
read this:
Although the Vantage's exhaust talks a mean game, we were a bit let down by its actual performance, lagging behind the (admittedly top-notch) competition we brought before it. Its 0–60-mph time of 5.3 seconds was a full second off the nearest competitors (the Vette and the Audi)
0-60 times are dependant on launching and grip so its more of a drivers race between the two stock for stock...prob up top the aston will pull but to around 100 is prob very close.

Fanboy!

Actually, just by looking at the figures one wouldn't be that sure:

The Aston pulls a 0.96g @ the (200-ft.) skidpad where the 335i only manages 0.86g (the 997S betters the Aston by 0.02g).
Speed through the 700-ft. slalom for the Aston is 68.6 mph and 68.7 for the 335i.
And in the quarter mile; the V8 takes the cake: 13.1@107.9 MPH vs. 13.5@104.5 MPH for the bimmer.

So with these figures in mind I was curious what the opinion of an actual owner of these cars is.

i actually like the stock exhaust note, but if i were to get an exhaust i would probably get a mildly loud one like the borla catback or the rd sport quads

the aston feals like it has a better 0-60 but in reality i dont think it does just because the 335i is so fast. (most mags say its 0-60 time is normally 4.8 ticks with the auto and a decent launch. and i have the auto) i say that the aston handles better because the susp. is a lot tighter but i dont really have any real proof that it wil out handle the 335. but i can say that the 335 has to be close to the astons G's on the skidpad now because i now have H&R sport springs( i can tell the handling dif. between stock and H&R) and i also have wider wheels and tires (8.5 and 10 with a 245/275 setup, compared to the stock 8 and 8.5 with a 225/255 tire setup and really high offsets) with aggressive offsets. and the wheels and tires way less than the stock wheels.
