ya maybe he was foolish and young, but it does not mean you guys can call him stupid like some others on this thread..

i agree that he was not smart, but instead of saying things like god speed or rest in peace most of you as$holes are being As$holes what if it was your kid, wouldn't you feel bad or get hurt that a bunch of car guys are criticizing him in a bad way.

a lot of you need to change your tone because the kid was a car guy and it would hurt his soul to read things like this..

JOSH AND FRIENDS RIP

my condolences to your family's
In all fairness though. I couldn't think of a better way to go out (if I were alone). Sure it wasn't intentional. But these guys were seemingly at the top of their world before they made a swift exit

Beer? Check
High Speeds? Check
Lift Off? Check

All pre-requisites for an awesome death. I'd rather go out this way than have renal failure or something.

I know it's possible but did that youngster actually own that 08 M5? When I read the story I thought of Ferris Bueller's day off when those two knuckle heads took Dad's toy out for some fun. Was the Father around when his son crashed his Bimmer, or was he away on business. If I had a Bimmer like that and a knuckle head for a son, I would definitely lock the keys in a safe or something if I wasn't going to be around for awhile!!!

If I had those cars and a kid that is anything CLOSE to the way I am, he would be doing shifter carts until he's 16, then autocrossing, then tracking his car when he's 18, lol.

Countless people die everyday because of circumstances beyond their control, especially in the world's warzones. Sorry, but I don't feel bad when some rich kids die because of their own stupidity. I won't mock them, but I certainly won't cry or pray for them either.

That is truly a sad story, and after reading the M5 board it is truly eerie. Really drives the point home.
Young kids should not be behind the wheel of a car as powerful as that, especially when going out to party. Even if you are not young, you should have gone to the proper driving schools. There are far too many people with money and no driving experience driving powerful cars.
Things happen much faster. One should really go to racing and performance driving schools. As a pilot one can't go from flying a small plane to a Jet, without the proper training.
It's ok to speed here and there, just please be careful out there guys. My prayers are with the families involved.

Stay safe.

RIP and my condolences go out to the families. No matter how irresponsible the situation might be, it is still a terrible tragedy.

Also people telling him how to make the car go faster(top speed) by turning off a certain function(traction control or something like that). No matter what it is a cruel reminder to everyone,How fast life can change at speed !
Bless their families.

Sincerely,

Stacy

The Saleen 7 used all that runway to get from 185-200 mph...he gobbled up 4200 ft of asphalt for the extra 15 mph.

And yes, if I had no breaks, I would have ended up 2 neighborhoods over

I was VERY comfortable in the 0-150-0 run as you can see in the video. That was actually my first test run and what I would call my safe run. Never would I do anything at night.

The cars on that chart are 1000+hp super cars!!! There is no way a M5 is going to hit 150mph in 1800 feet. Add at least another 1000 feet! That would leave you with a couple of thousand feet for braking.... not enough to safely do a high speed run.
