Windshield tint wont do much, unless you do the whole thing, which is only a little illegal.

I had the other windows tinted since I've gotten them. 33% 3M I believe. So i"ve always had the other windows tinted, but the car definitely got hot in the sun. If you look at the angle of your windshield the exposure is the highest, thus tinting the windshield made a huge impact.

I have all my windows tinted with Formula 1 Ceramic tint and it cuts down a lot on heat in the memphis summers.

I have a black car with black leather/alcantara interior for reference. I would love to have the windshield tinted with something light to help heat even more.

Tinting the whole windshield would be nice, but its illegal. If you learn to park better, you reduce windshield exposure to the sun, and reduce heat.

60-70% tint is very difficult to see. It works very well on the front windshield and is unnoticable unless you have another identical car next to it with no tint. Because the front windshield tends to be the biggest, or second biggest, and most horizontal window, it cuts heat by quite a bit.

Tinting Passenger and drivers side doors is also illegal, but thats the price you pay to drive cool.

No, tinting to certain levels is illegal, but tinting the windshield lower than the AS1 line is illegal, no matter how dark. Which does suck, yes. I think up to 50, maybe 40% should be legal. But thats just me.

i live in so cal and have my m5 tinted with dark all the way around and the windshield done with formula one pinnacle series film. which is 15% and 30% on the windsheild, i have yet to get harassed with the all black car, and no problems at gas stations as well as on the highway when an officer rolls by. and for the heat protection it works awsome.
i did the same on the smartcar, and it wwas noticable compared to my dads smart that doesnt have the pinnacle series

Product UV Protection Heat Rejection Glare Reduction
Pinnacle 50 99.5% 43% 44%
Pinnacle 35 99.5% 50% 60%
Pinnacle 15 99.5% 59% 81%

http://www.formulaone.com/

i got tinted at the tint pros in huntington beach.
