just got ticket for tint and no front plate!
I was on my way to get my new DPE wheels put on and lower my car when a stupid cop on a bike looks at me when i am pulling up to the stoplight. by the way he was staring at my car i knew he was gonna pull me over. to make a long story short, this a hole cop writes me a ticket for having no front plate and tinted windows in the front of the car. i explained to him that my plates just arrived from the dmw and the other plate was in the trunk to no avail. i also explained that the tint was like that from the dealer. he didnt care. luckily he didnt ticket me for the exhaust! i know there is a plate holder i can use to show the front plate without drilling holes can anyone please give me a link to that. also what should i do about the tint? do ihave to take it off the front driver and passenger side and get it signed off on or will the chp usually sign off on that without actually inspecting the tint? i'm really annoyed. what a *****!

You can eighter take both sides of and go get in signed of my chp or you can wait until a letter from the court house comes in the mail and I think it will be about $300 so with that said $60 bucks will clear your ticket if you remove and Re-do your tints

I got pulled over near my house for the same thing. My radar detector went off on a 35 mph speed limit road so I slowed down, passed the cop and watched him as he stared me down. I knew he was going to pull me over and sure enough, I looked in the rear view mirror after I passed him and his lights turned on. I got a warning for the tint and a $60 ticket for no front plate, so it could have been worse. The worst part of it is the amont of time the whole ordeal takes. I had Five Guys burgers in the car, and they were getting cold!

I got hit for the same thing in San Diego a few years ago. Merged onto the 5 South off Pacific Highway with a CBR-600 in my old 96 M3. There was hardly any traffic, just a minivan that I saw. Unfortunately, there was a cop diagonal behind the minivan. He did not approve of my speed, or the fact that my blinker blinked one time as I swung wide through several lanes of 'traffic' (there was NONE).
Anyway, he hits me for speeding, no front license plate, and tint. I payed the speeding fine, put the front plate on, and I payed the $70 fine for the tint. It would have cost WAY more to even just remove the tint, much less put it back on.
I say just pay the 'tint fine' and go on your way. Who cares about fix-it tickets anyway unless they are easy and don't cost more money than the fine.
Just my opinion.....

I never park on the street because of this exact reason, only parking garages for me.........or my garage at home.
