Mr P.S., I don't agree with the name-calling by A-H or you, but I have to disagree with you. Just because the new 7-series will end up being bought, maybe even by some here who said it's fugly, doesn't make it a success. As many have stated, BMW's have always been good-great driver's cars. Some have revered the Bangle-esq styling, while most have not. BMW itself back-peddled a lot of it to the point where it's more subtle than it originally was. Since the process of building a model is many years in the making, manufacturers change direction like an oil-tanker. I think BMW is headed in the right direction and I'd say that if you look at the past 10 years of their sales, most of it has probably been driven by name & driving dynamic and not style. BMW's had a design edge for a long time and they've lost that now. They've become very generic while maintaing their grills & the H-kink. Yes, they are being copied as well, see the Pontiac G8, Koreans, others, but as a long-time owner and person who speaks to alot of the same, many of us are put off by the design. Their cars still drive well but it takes a long time for the design to grow on you, if at all. No sense in us arguing b/c it's just our opinions anyway and they make no difference unless we get tapped for the next design focus group.

I should drive down to Munich someday... All these Americans on the 6 constantly talk about going to the autobahn etc. The bahn is an hour drive from my place and even I have never been there. I should do a German road trip!

Can't seem to get myself to like it. I agree with other posts as well... looks very close to an LS460 (except worse).
