Do Not Buy from MODBARGAINS!

You guys think that BBB could help my brother with Modbargains? The defective rotor they sent to him cause the damage on the ebrake system on that side only. It cost him $500 to get repaired at a dealership cuz he didn't know what was wrong.

I would assume all of these complaints I'm reading would be PLENTY to get these guys to straighten out.
If everyone would file a complaint, these guys will have no where to hide. There are many other options out there for aftermarket parts. There is no reason why these guys should stay in business.
There are enough companies out there who can complete a transaction without dropping the ball.

That's the funny thing about all this. I agree you get what you pay for. But these guys are selling Schnitzer knock off items, too bad they don't fit.
It's just funny that the two no name Ebay front lips we've put on two of our cars fit near perfect, with no modification necessary other than paint. Not too bad for cheap parts made in Taiwan lol.

Wow... mike used to have a top notch reputation... I wonder whats been happening over at Modbargains that is causing their service to go down the crapper... good to know, I was about to direct a friend their for parts, unless I hear a good rebuttal that won't happen now.
that said, the cost of the paint as mentioned above is your friend's fault. especially with replica parts you HAVE to test fit first. So said friend should eat the cost of painting the difuser and get the rest back

Once you are trying to return something and you get the woman that works their on the phone with you it goes downhill..I once ordered eyebrows for my e46 a long time ago and they sent me the wrong ones so I contacted them and asked them for an exchange. They told me that they were out of the eyebrows that I wanted and that they would contact me when they get them in. 6 months later I still haven't been contacted about it and in those 6 months I have emailed and phoned and to no avail I still have the eyebrows even though I sold my e46. I tried selling them on a forum but they are soo ugly no one wants them lol.

It sounds like a situation where this guy is just buying lots of parts from different suppliers and isn't accepting any responsibility for their quality. It's a shame.
I still stand by my first statement, though... any body parts must be fitted prior to prep/paint!
Hope it all works out.

I ordered a carbon fiber grill for the M5, and was very clear to be sure it was in stock (as they were hard to come by at that point in time).
Guess what, they never came, and after eventually escalating to threatening emails, I finally got a response, which was, they're out of stock. I did get refunded, but the whole thing left me resolved to never use them again.
In the end, a trip to Home Depot, a can of spray primer, and can of matte black spray paint, and I'm 5% more murdered out that I was that morning.

Wait a minute......your profile clearly says you're 22........but you just said you've been a BMW tech since you're 16?? And prior to that you were building Porsche race cars??? Either you're not 22 or you're full of ****.....sorry to be so forward....but what's the truth? Also I don't believe the BBB can do ANYTHING.....all they do is document and if you're bad ....put you on the bad list......I am pretty sure they can do nothing beyond that.....

FWIW, I've spent well over $30k in aftermarket parts on my cars. Not to mention bikes, quads, sea doos... the list goes on.
I've got 6 years experience as a BMW tech. Prior to this I was building Porsche race cars, and fiberglassing various parts for them.
I rarely have seen something like this. I mean come on, 3 weeks after the fact and no right side grill?
The BBB is the only next viable step.

I understand the OP may have an individual case, sadly these things happen.
Its also real easy for everyone else to chime in and bash. Hope everything works out.
My experiences have always been quick, fast, and easy.

Yeah I haven't heard good things about them modbargains either. My brother has a 03 E46 and he got the stop tech 2 break system I believe it was from them and long story short, one of the rotors wasn't the right size even though they came with the same part numbers. Installed them and because it was the wrong size, it tore apart the ebrake on the rear. Had to service at BMW dealership and they stated that it wasn't their fault and now fighting with another company to get another rotor. On top of that he lost out on an extra 500 to fix the ebrake. After all said and done with the money he spent he could have got something nicer with the 1200 he ended up spending. He had to dish out money for the new rotor and it took 2 months before the re-inbursed him for them. Still fighting to get his 500 for the busted ebrake but it looks like a lost battle.
The funny thing is ending off in a good note this nice guy Gabe from modbargains just so happened to PM me the other day because he posted on a thread sayin if anyone needs any help it'd be his pleasure too so I ended up asking him if he could get me my $24.39 that they never gave back to me for shipping the defected rotor back to them to analize they only covered and gave me back the money they charged for the extra rotor plus to ship the rotor to the dealership so I guess they ain't so bad at least Gabe is trying to get my 24 bucks back cus its not that money at this point its the principal they promised me that money back not even talking about after this experience they should have giving me all this stuff for free I feel!

I've always heard good things about them until last year. They've gone downhill since them or what?

This is very strange. I know Mike from MB personally and his character, ethics, and integrity are second to none. I have purchased a number of things without any issues. On one occasion, my blacked out kidney grills had a few clips broken when delivered. I emailed mike immediately, he responded right away, paid for shipping, and got me new ones within 10 days.
