E92 m3 dct 12.1 @ 115
Went to the track with the MBworld guys today. Awesome event, private track rental of Famoso. Great prep and great group of people.
Lots of fast cars showed up, and I can post the times for them later if anyone wants.
I want to focus on the M3, obviously, and I think my slip speaks for itself. Many people have underestimated the M3 and namely the DCT. The M3 will hit 11's with bolt on's, comfortably. If I could have just hit a 1.8 60 foot I would have probably already been there. Still some issues with burning out to get drag radials heated with DCT, but I'm working on it.

MB Forever:
The BMW M3 ran 12.50s, 12.40s, 12.30s, 12.20s, then a very impressive 12.10 If he would've stayed longer, I'm sure he would've ran an 12.00 or maybe even high 11s. His car's got UD pulleys + exhaust + a few other bolt-ons. The most shocking feature I noticed on the M3 was how fast it shifted. I thought he was shifting manually at first, but he said the computer was doing it. That new DCT tranny from BMW performed unbelievably fast shifts. sticky2, your car was shifting so fast, I couldn't believe it. Congrats on your times.....

Nice time my friends 135 hit 11.8 and trapped 120 on a couple runs. Famoso is a fun track...

The ONLY faster 135 is the tuner's shop car. I'm already faster than every 135 other than that.
With boost, it is not a discussion, 600 wheel for the M3. That is on 93 octane pump.

Great times bro, but what do you think about the recent problems and recalls?

I'm still on the original software that was recalled, no issues. Does Toyota even have a dual clutch?

Good one
Here's a little breakdown of the tranny incase you're interested....and sadly no recalls as of yet
• The worlds fastest shift time for street legal production cars. At 0.1 second, it’s faster than you.
• Full manual shift control that can be instantly accessed by moving the console-mounted shift lever to “M” and then using either the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters or the shift lever. In manual mode, it shifts only when you tell it to.
• A direct feel unrivaled by conventional automatics, made possible via clutch lockup (yes, like a manual) employed in second through eighth gears
• Ultra-quick throttle blipping downshifts match engine and gear speed to avoid sudden engine braking—an advantage during performance driving, on the track or on the road
• First gear torque multiplication for maximum off-the-line acceleration
• Smooth, yet quick and drama free automatic shifting, if that is what you desire
How's your re-badged 335i treating you?

The DCT shifts in .004, understand? A conventional automatic with torque converter will NEVER approach this. The ISF isn't even close. In case .004 doesn't sink in, that is 50 times faster than the blink of an eye.
Full manual shift control in an Auto is never full manual shift control, no matter how well their marketing has convinced you.
Direct feel of an automatic? Do you work for Toyota?
Ultra-quick throttle blipping? Are you reading from the brochure?
First gear torque multiplication? Last I checked, every first gear does that.
Smooth and quick huh, try a DCT sometime.
Thanks for playing, at least Toyota is trying though, no matter how far they are off the benchmark.
