e36 m3 value ??

Assuming the car is pristine and well documented, I would say low to perhaps mid $20s at best, high teens at worst. Originality is a plus at that mileage.
The value trend for E36 M3s in general is to continue to depreciate slowly, although I think the pristine, low-mileage example have all but stopped depreciating. Eventually, the E36 M3s will stop depreciating, but given their volume are unlikely to see any significant increase in value for the foreseeable future.

Too many of them, lots of beat ones to be had for cheap $$$. I would say $18k would be a number that would be fair for both parties. Though I'm sure for the right person, with that mileage you could pull just over $20.
But E46 M3s can be had for dirt cheap these days. I have access to 3 or 4 of them right now priced from $13k up to $19k with under 100k miles.

Prices are very soft. I would say $16,000 tops and you have to find a buyer in this economy which is not easy. I have a very nice 98 E36 M3 with 64,000 miles that might bring $10,500 if I was lucky. Keep it and drive it. They are great cars.

i sold my m3 last year, absolutely pristine with nice subtle mods for 15k even (had 68k miles on it). desirable black on black combo. I did sell my car before the e46 m3 crash, however, so now I'd have been lucky to pull 12k I think.
I think if the car is excellent with that low of miles 16-17k isn't a stretch since low mile cars are very hard to find

The LTW's are actually appreciating right now. I saw one on eBay a few weeks ago that went for just north of $50K!!! There are so few of them though, that it's not a big surprise, I suppose.

+1 its just a question of whether you are willing to wait a few months to find the right guy...

Also is this your car or are you looking to make an offer on one with this mileage, if its yours I'd say keep the car, E36 M3s are such great toy cars, I was gonna sell mine when I purchased my new E90 M3 but cant seem to pull myself away from it.
