if 10w60 castrol is NOT available, whats the next best thing?
waiting is NOT an option, so please, thank you, but I cannot wait.

It's not a good idea to mix viscosity's. But, in a pinch and given the 2 choices, the 5w50 is the closest. Depending on how many quarts you are low. I would think about changing the oil soon, and stocking up some factory oil to leave in the trunk.

thanks, I was short a quart and I replaced it with 15w50 just 1 quart... I haven't done an oil change in about 4,000 miles? I got about 6,300 miles now. you already know M's suck up gas.

but price doesn't matter to me, I could care less, especially since I just needed a pint to get to orange county to pick up my other car.... hence why I couldn't have it overnighted.... it was something I needed yesterday.

driving to van nuys and deal with traffic period isn't worth $150 to me. I live less than a 1/2 mile from bh bmw.... but F them too. lol they weren't open last night
