M6 or E92 M3?
#17
IMHO there is no comparison. Go with the M6 all the way. I have an AW E60 M5 and love it. I just paid off my 3 year loan and I do not ever see getting rid of it. Currently looking for an M6 for a mod project.
The M5/M6 are dynamic and very capable in performance yet comfortable.
A few pics of the M5, sorry about the other pics

M3
I just traded my 07 M5-smg for an 09 M3 w/dct. FWIW, I liked the more balanced handling feel for daily driving(smaller, lighter). The heavier M5 is faster top end but the 3 will stay with it to 120 while being more fun to drive at that speed range. Also, the dct tranny is significantly better than the smg in both sport and auto modes. I'd suggest driving both to see what suits you best. As my daily driver, it's a great compliment to my modded GT2.

Scott get the M3, just because the M3 community needs you back Bro!
So far I love the E92 DCT, it has exceeded my expectations. It does like bolt ons as well, I added 30 WHP with just x-pipe HFC's, pulley and filter, software should add another 15, still need to get some 60-130 runs in. Knowing you, you'll go farther and want more power, the M6 doesn't have a FI option out there, in the coming months the M3 will, looks like they are making 550 WHP on 6- 7psi! 600 on 8-9psi, race fuel will add another 40 or so.
Either way, it will be great to have you back in an M Brotha.
Here's a few runs against two Audi B5 Stage 3 S4's, and two other modded E90 6mt M3's.

Why not consider a 650i ? My father was on the market for an M6 but he drove one and he figured it had too much power and he bought the 650i he loved it, he never stops driving it. I personally would take the M6 but I'm just throwing out some ideas....

Hey DLSJ5 allow me give you some info. ASR Engineering (Miami, FL.) is currently developing a FI motor for the M5/M6's.
There will be stages I, II & III. The stage III will be a fully built TT motor. Total redone internals (decrease compression) for the V10 (S85 engine). The stage I and II will be TT with low boost and no internals.
My M5 is currently under the knife to be the first stage III engine.
Did you see the current thread/video of the M5 down here running a 10.57 sec pass at 130 trap? These suckers can move for a big sled.
Cheers

Yes, I saw the 10.5 and 130 trap, awesome work as well, but since I know Scott a little bit, unless he's changed his mind, Nitrous is not his cup of tea, but the TT might be, I'm not sure what his long term goals are with either car. I'd rather he get the E92 DCT because we need him back in the M3 community.

Considering his current garage, the M6 fills the void... a great GT car with sporty capabilities and about as much prestige as you can get without having to worry about where you park it
