Modded E92 M3 vs. Modded E92 335I
#17
Ummm you do know that the ONLY engine mod that 335i in the video had was a $349 piggy back computer right?????
Basically, its a regular 335i AUTOMATIC, with a single $350 mod on 91 gas...which was performing basically only 75-80 percent of its potential because of the gas.
Vs.
An M3 with a Dual Clutch Transmission, X-pipes, High Flow Cats, ECU reflashed, Pulley, and intake.
It was just the initial punch the M3 jumped 1 car lengths because 60-65mph is not a good starting point for the 335i automatic on a regular gas map. The 335i still stuck to it and you can see the front right there in the rear view mirror.
Not making excuses, but if he really wanted to demolish that M3 all that is needed is some better gas. Don't get your hopes up just by seeing that video, I don't see any N/A E90/92 M3's trapping 121+ MPH yet....
Have a nice day.

You also understand 335's on the street aren't running 100+ octane so this is the result that will be taking place 99.9% of the time?
You also understand what happens to an M3 with boost, right?
Sounds like you are making excuses, and demolish is a bit of a stretch.
Don't really give a **** about bang for the buck, but for people who are counting their pennies, ya, the 335 chipped is nice. So is a used E55, or a C6, or a cobra, or even a dodge neon SRT4.

Of course, the track is not even a comparison, these chipped N54's are one dimensional.

You shouldn't get your hopes up yet either because he has the ONLY 335 in the 11's His car apparently doesn't need mods because he already is smoking every other 335 out there. It doesn't matter if they have full-bolt ons or not the second fastest car is Terry's car who is the ****ing Tuner so of course his car is going to be much faster then the average customer. Most people I see are running low 12.3-6 @ 114-116 on 100 Octane so its pretty weak for people to cry about Hotrods car not having mods because fact is if it DID it wouldn't mean much.

and why always these straight line performance comparisons?
Britney Spears could rip you off by having enough money to buy or mod a stock car that goes like crazy..
here in Germany,we have those VW Golf GTI owners who tune their cars and proudly tell that it is a "Porsche Killer"...wtf...
but when the corners come, the bull**** stops..
and a M is a M...and a 335i is a fuc*ing *****(when stock)
even the M is not as well built for the track as most Porsches are built for racing the track.
Wear and tear is much more an issue with BMWs than with real sports cars.
****...somehow,I am beginning to realize that Bimmers have become Show cars...not go-cars
all these threads about XY-kill and bla bla
why not stfu ,go to the track and see what your car is capable of..?
I guess..my next car would be a P-car,if I managed to get used to that special P-car sound and in the end like it.
if they had a V8 911 I would not hesitate...at all

You talk of a Pcar with a V8; is your current car a V8?
As far as Bimmers being show cars....jump in an E60 M5 and tell me about there being more show than go. Ya might change your mind.

I live in Germany
now think about your questions again...
I was raised with BMWs
(born in Munich)
and about the V8 thing...
no,I own a 335i
but I am looking for another car
I have never been to the Ring with my own car, since it`s not worth it...other cars can be rented to be raced on the track.
But I have driven pretty much any other car except the P-Cars,F-Cars,Lambos(rides only) and I know that there are quite strong Bimmers,BUT they are still no comparison to a real sports car..
apparently YOU have not been in a real sports car with a real good driver.
Go to the ring and test ride the M5 and the GT3
you might be scared in the M5,but might puke in the GT3

Rematch!!
This time with the 335I on 100 octane, starting in his sweet spot, and Vbox traps right after the runs at 118MPH! Damn impressive 335I!
Enjoy!
