Thinking About Joining the BMW Family - Need Help

Hey everyone,

I am hoping to buy an '08 M3 coupe and am hoping you guys can give me some guidance. The particular M3 I am looking at is a 2008 with only 2,000 miles. It is interlagos blue metallic and is a six speed. The dealer is asking $54,800 for it. It is being sold by a dealer named Select Luxury in Georgia. I am in Cincinnati, so, I would obviously be driving down there to get it. Here is a link to the car:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

What do you guys think would be a reasonable offer for this car? I am new to the BMW market, but I know the car market isn't exactly the best right now. $50,000? $51,000??? etc.

Also, I would be putting ~$30,000 down and financing the rest. In case that is relevant. Thanks a lot guys and I hope to be a member of the M3 club soon!

Mike (who appreciates ANY help)

I think the car is beautiful but why not buy a e46 m3 or a 335i(with a tad more savings in the cash) you could buy one of those cash...noone like car payments especially if you have the cash

I don't really like the e45 M3 and the 335i just doesn't really do it for me. I don't mind car payments ( I am young and don't really have that many liabilities that older people have i.e. mortgage payment, $$ for kids, etc.).

$7,500 off of the factory? How much off of their sticker price would that be? Pardon my ignorance.

If it helps, I would be trading in a 2006 4Runner with 47,000 miles on it.

What does everybody think would be a fair price to offer for this M3?

Mike, just for reference, some have bought brand new (0-200 miles) 08's for 50-52. Depends on options clearly, but considering you want a 6 speed it is a safe bet you could aquire the same deal since you are willing to travel. There are still tons of 08s left so search around and you will find a great deal somewhere!

**shameless plug in a bad market**

If you feel like going to Utah for one (GREAT break-in drive back!) call Robert Clark at BMW of Murray. Tell him I sent you. Nicest car salesman I have ever spoken to, and I speak to a LOT of them. This guy truly cares about his customers.

Where at?

I am looking for a coupe, manual, 2008, with somewhat lower miles. I am doing a search on Autotrader within any radius from Cincy and am having a hard time finding any in the 40's.
