In this months European Car there is a 'nardo high speed shootout' and in that they had a 3 series touring, with M3 body package (front, hood, mirrors), and inside they put the V10. It hit 194.1 mph on the nardo. Not bad for a 'wagon'.

If the car you saw was gray, then that 'might' be it. That is the closest thing I have seen to what you describe.

There is a company in germany that has build a M3 wagon:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEKuy...eature=related

It started as a BMW E93 320D and instaled the BMW V10 engine in it Some pics:

Costs: 120,000.- Euro's/ $173,000.- For te total package (car, conversion, etc.)
So it costs the same as a brand new M5

Sorry for my terrible English

Glad they didn't put any M badges on the estate conversion, unless it comes from the factory with an M badge on it... it's not an M...

That must be one quick wagon with the V10 tucked in there
