Faster in what way? On the drag strip? Maybe, but with the HPFP problems, and the car lacking a LSD, I think it's only faster as a stoplight racer.

Yea. So if he is just the casual kind of guy, he should go with the 335i. If he's a tracker, then e46 all the way.

I guess. If you can have fun cornering with basically a one-wheeled car.

I like the idea of keeping it NA, but I'm not sure the cost/benefit will be worth it...

Good buddy of mine went from an E46 M3...to a brand new 335. Did the intakes, chip, exhaust, etc. But after 4 fuel pump failures, BMW bought the car back and he got a smoking deal on a 2006 E46 M3 vert.

Yes, the 335 is faster straight line...but nothing beats the driving experience of the M cars.

I personally told my buddy he should have kept his original E46 M3 as it was such a sweet car and he had done wheels and coilovers to it already.

His vert is sick btw.

Enjoy that E46!!

Opening up the motor is going to cost you big $$$. Just go straight to HPF and get the stage 2 for almost the same price. Good for 630 rwhp. 335's are nice but lack the "feel" of an M3.

Uh, and 335's are not going to be putting out 630+ wheel. The M is the better platform, it just takes more cash for far greater gains which 335 owners don't seem to get.

Exactly my point, an HPF turbo on an S54 will take you further than an N54 could ever dream. You should have read what I wrote.

That's what I was also saying. The feel of an e46 M3 plus an HPF turbo kit = win! There are no 335's putting out that much power.
