Are they really going to call it an "M1"? I thought they wouldn't b/c of the original M1.

^ I bet they end up calling it the 1M (i.e. X6M, X5M, Z4M).

Just a prototype at this point and judging by past M models, I highly doubt it will end up as depicted.

Latest test mule sporting the quad exhaust setup. No doubt this will be a true new M.

I still think the 1 series looks like complete and utter ***. The rocker panel area makes the car look like it's smiling at you. The shape of the headlights is goofy looking as well. Never been my cup of tea. I don't care how fast it is...you ain't ever going to outrun the ugliness of that thing.

Getting closer to production. It will also be called a 1 Series M Coupe.

It won't be called the M1.

"The 1-series M Coupe began life code-named "Pyrat," and BMW thankfully refrained from calling it the M1."

^ Back when I started this thread it was unknown what they would call it. Well, that's now all been settled.

I'd love that car if it were 500lbs lighter than a 335. 200lbs? No thanks.
