ANy major problems with 2008 M3?

OTher than the iDrive that i hear a bunch of complaints about. Are there any mechanical problems with the M3 that I should be aware of before making a decision on a car? I drove a nice one this afternoon black/black loaded, 6spd, 19k miles, with CPO warranty till 100k.

I've never owned a BMW but there rest of my family does. The free maintainance does not cover like tires, brakepads, etc? Right? Or does it?

Thanks

The idle valve is the main problem that occurs with the 2008's.

The maintence covers brakes/rotors, but you'll probably only get it once. Tires are about the only thing it doesn't cover.

I have a '08, 6sp daily driver with 19.5K miles and not a single problem. Great car - gas mileage poor- but you don't buy it for gas mileage.
