E90 M3: "Wicked" the Family Mobile
Here is a build up of my E90 M3...Enjoy!
Purchased my E90 M3 in Oct '08 from N. Scottsdale BMW:
Could not pass it up as it was bought for invoice & still with the 0.9% financing!
Here is the specs:
'08 E90 M3 Sedan
Jerez Black/Bamboo Beige
6 sp.
Premium Package
-Carbon leather trim
-Power folding mirriors
-Universal Garage Door opener
-Digital Compass Mirror
-BMW Assist
Technology Package
-EDC
-M Drive
-Comfort Access System
-Navigation
-Voice Activation
-Real Time Traffic Info
-19s
-Fold Down Seats
-Heated front seats
-Park distance
-HD radio
-BMW TeleServices
-Sirius Radio
-iPod & USB adapter
-Enhanced sound
First thing I did once I got my beauty home was install my MRTM Design E90/92/93 Pedal Pad Set & MRTM Design Door Lock Studs:
I honestly thought I wasn't gonna do any mods on this car other than upgrade the wheels...BUT we all know where that leads to, lol!
I decided since I had them, to see how my HRE 540S with Carbon Black centers would look like on the E90 M3:
From this pic...the cries for it to be lowered boomed out louder than thunder, so the wife agreed to just this additional mod, lol!
I had BMS install H&R spring drop pronto. I have no pics of this install, unfortunately.
The only picture I have to show the drop is pics I took of my E90 M3 when I slapped on the Kenesis wheels from the E46 Dinan S3-R M3 DubFest car show. The Kenesis where put on temporarily until the set of 360 Forged 8 Mesh I ordered for the car came in:
THEN I finally got the call that my 360 Forged 8 Mesh were ready!
Specs:
20x9 F (2.5" Lip) , 20x10.5 R (4" Lip)
255/30-20 F, 285/25-20 R Nitto INVO
So I drove down to 360 Forged in Miami & had them installed & then an Official Photo shot was made:

Since moving to FL...I missed the MFest crew & the CA BMW meets/car show scene, so when it was announced that CEC was having an E9x M3 Meet...I jumped all over it:
CEC E9X M3 Meet 7/11/09
I found myself missing the larger CA crowd, BUT there was some increcible E9x M3s and boy did it get my mind going on what mods can be done to my E90 M3 :devillook:
First thing I convinced the wife I needed (she hated it herself) was that the iDrive **** & system was a bit combersome, so when I saw someone with the '09 iDrive Controller retrofit, the list of mods, added by one:
Being unhappy with the brightness of the AE, I was looking into an upgrade. I looked into the HIDs, the bulb replacements (did this quick one & had it in the car for a while) until I found the AEs that took the E90 M3 to a level I was happy with. I contacted Luis at OSS in Miami & scheduled my car to have these installed:
*************************************
I will tell you here that other than the H&R Spring Drop, done by BMS & the OSS LED AEs, done by OSS, ALL other mods have been installed by myself! I say this, because I am very proud of myself for taking a deep breathe and remembering that I do have the ability to do all these installs, but just getting past that initial doubt, everything actually was pretty easy as long as I used my common sense and of course took my time!

Well, as I already had a V1 stuck to my front windshield, I was getting sick of how hot it was getting and saw some ideas on M3Post.com on what others were doing, so I decided to take it upon myself to do something similar!
I decided to do the E90 Rear Center Headrest V1 hidden install, but not with the rearview mirror display, but to install the display & audio/power unit in the ash tray:
Here are some steps & pics:
I then took apart the V1 so I could figure out where I had to cut:
Yes I broke the V1 on/off turn switch by accident, though it wasn't a big deal, lol.
Screwed in the White Plastic End piece:
Then I carefully placed the V1 Assembly inside the headrest foam:
Finished layout...
V1 Hidden Ashtray Display:
V1 Hidden in rear center headrest (with daughter's car seat ):
As I mentioned before, that CEC meet was VERY dangerous!
I just couldn't get over the fact that having seen my stock E90 M3 next to others E9x M3s with front lips, the stock E9x M3 looks like it is missing something. I think the last 360 Forged pic kind shows that the best!
I felt that a front lip would be a great addition to the E90 M3, as well as some other things, lol!
Well, I really found myself in a bit of a perdicament. I really wanted to use EuroDyne, but also wanted to have my parts painted before they were shipped out. On top of that (I knew it could be done) shipping all the way out to FL compared to when I was in CA also was a major consideration. So I contacted Nate at IND, a VERY reputable vendor on M3Post.com and the price he gave me for pre-painted parts shipped to me couldn't be passed up!
That said...I went with Jerez Black Painted VRS CF Decklid, VRS Poly Front Lip and VRS CF Rear Diffuser:
After the Bubble wrap was off, VRS CSL Bootlid & Poly Front Lip:
Poly front lip installed (by me) on the Front bumper:

The VRS CF CSL Bootlid painted JB installed (by me) on E90 M3 (temp. HREs in the pics):
And lastly, VRS CF Rear Diffuser painted JB installed (by me) on E90 M3:
During this time, I found some posts on M3Post.com on a retrofit that I felt corrected a big safety issue, adding the Rear Fog Light & switch! Here in FL it rains very hard & visibility is almost nill sometimes, so to add these lights would help being seen during these conditions, as well as those idiotic tailgaters!
Well it took a while to find one, but I finally found an Euro Light Switch at LeatherZ.com (very few left to get because BMW has stopped them from comming into the US)...
Rear Fog Light Switch installed:
New Euro Switch on Left, Stock US M3 Switch on Right:
Modified Euro Swith on Left, Modified (for fun) US Stock Switch on Right:
Modified Euro Switch installed & lit up:
Rear Fog Light Indicator Light On, Upper Right Side:
Rear Lights On with Front Lights On:

As this is my family car, I just felt really uncomfortable with the rear tires 360 Forged had sold me (285/25-20), so I took the 360 Forged Wheels off the E90 M3 again & threw the HRE 540s back on until my new tires came in. I knew that the current running of 285/30-20 Nittos caused rubbing, so I decided to go down to 275/30-20 Nitto INVOs that I purchased from www.WheelSourceDirect.com (Yes, DubzDirect.com is the parent company & company I'm part owner of). After these were mounted I was VERY happy to find no rubbing & enough rubber between the road & rim that made me comfortable:
Well, I have been going back & forth on wether I like the OEM Black Line Tail Lights or not. My final view...They look horrible on with the stock trunk, but once you go to the VRS CSL Decklid, they look amazing:
As my birthday is just around the corner, I convinced my wife that an exhaust would be part of my birthday present So she agreed as long as I sold some of my stuff hanging around.
Well I decided to go with the Eisenmann Sport Exhaust! Why...my application is that my E90 M3 is my family car that I use almost daily. I have a 15 month old daughter that rides in the car most of the time (when she's not in mommy's X5) and I can't have an exhaust that is too loud or that has a very bad drone. I wanted a much deeper sound than stock and the Eisenmann Sport Exhaust sounded like the perfect exhaust for me...
Here is a summary:
The Eisenmann Sport Exhaust & Connecting Pipe comes VERY well protected from IND (as did ALL of the products from IND I've purchased):
The quality of the connecting pipes & Exhaust are as expected! I started by unwraping the connecting pipes and clamps:
Eisenmann E90 M3 "Limousine" Sport Exhaust:
OK...as a VERY initial opinion when I first started up the car, it sounded a little deeper than stock, but my car was nowhere near warmed up, nor was the exhaust of course! It was dinner time by then, so I had to call it a night.
Well...today I was able to take a drive up north a bit & really made an effort to "hear" the exhaust compared to stock. I drove with the music almost not on to fully on (how I listen to it).
Around town & in the low gears & low rpm (1000-3000) it is very deep and then lessens. In 4th gear & around 4000 rpm you can't even hear the exhaust.
On the highway, there is a little drone at 80 mph & in 6th gear, but it is right at the same level as my Nitto tires sound I normally heard, so it wasn't a problem. Also, this was after the engine was warmed & the Eisenmann exhaust was warmed up.
Inside the cabin you honestly barely hear the exhaust until you get on the gas. And when you get on the gas, the noise level inside the cabin is no more than the stock...BUT SOUNDS mean & so much better then stock!
So I've only put maybe 30 miles in today & it's still a while for the exhaust to fully break in...but so far, I absolutely LOVE the Eisenmann Sport Exhaust for my application!

Well, I got some darker tint added to the rear windows & windsheild recently. I origionally had N. Scottsdale BMW tint the windows to AZ legal spec which is 28-29% all the way around with 90% UV Metallic protectant. I recently had Serious Autosport of West Palm Beach add a layer of tint to the rear side doors and rear windshield to be now have 15%.
I also did forget to mention that I have also installed Painted Front Reflectors, RPI Scoops & replaced the stock Air Filter with an APE High Performance Air Filter.
So what's next...a photo shoot to be done!
And...the last mod that will be done is upgrading the stereo, but until then....
Some quick pics I took before it rained:
From a recent Rezmoto Photo shoot:

Did you take this pic in Boca/Highland? Funny, that red roof house I looked at about 2 years ago or so when it needed some worked.
