Some 1/4 mile Vide with my Supercharged M3 - 130 mph
#16
The one day I did take it to the dragstrip, it was hot and humid as hell...and even though I trapped 126.8, my best 60-130 was only 8.5. So, the car was very sensitive to environmental conditions.

It was a somewhat cool and very dry day. About 65 degrees or so. I clipped off a 8.16, 8.15, 7.99 and 7.86 pretty much one run after the other. I'm confident I would have hit 129-130 at a dragstrip that day.

I have to get back out to the strip but I think I may do a 60-130 run although the temps have heated up a bit.
Is there any rough rule of thumb for the 60-130? As in, how much power it takes to hit certain numbers?
Oh, and just out of curiosity since you know so much about these things, roughly what is the power level for 200 in the mile?

Impressive work, as always!

Well, of course it depends on the car (and the weight), but I'd say say 600 rwhp should put most cars in the low 7 range and every 100 HP will reduce app. 1 second from the time. Once you start getting into low 5's/high 4's, it takes even more relative power and a lot more traction to make improvements.
A true 700 rwhp should get you very close. But the Mile is a very hard nut to crack. I know of a guy that makes 750awhp, ran 5.2 60-130, but maxed out at 201 at the TX Mile.

Luck has nothing to do with it.
