My New Project E60 M5 Has Begun!

Waiting on a couple more parts before we do a new article, but in the interm, thought I would share a couple pics of the mods we did. We added the Vorsteiner carbon fiber trunk spoiler and carbon fiber rear diffuser. We are waiting on the carbon hood and front bumper splitters. Once we have it all done, will create a new article. We decided it was time to put alittle spice into the Project M5 by adding a 4 wheel StopTech big brake kit. The front 6piston kit features 380x35mm 2pc drilled rotor and a rear 380x32mm drilled rotor. All StopTech big brake kits come with pads, steel braided lines, and hardware for an easy mount. The only modifications that were needed to be made was cutting or removing the front and rear brake dust shields. We ordered the calipers in black but then painted them flat army green and added a carbon fiber StopTech logo. Do I sense a matching vehicle wrap
The CorForged wheels were cool how they were, but we wanted the 20's with step lip to look bigger, so we had the outer polished lip done in gloss black like our Porsche. Flat black center, gloss black lip. Because of the deep 4inch rear lip and semi concave face, these rear brakes were not fitting. So we added a 12mm H&R Trak spacer with longer studs to give it that oh so cool FLUSH look. Oh yea, no rubbing either
The stock brakes on the M5 are big to begin with in rotor size. The StopTech calipers have been engineered to give you better pedal modulation, stopping power and with the larger caliper and increased piston size, better brake pad wear. We did a 60-0mph Performance Box test on the stock brakes and will do the update with the StopTechs next week. So stay tuned to our Project M5 Section for the update.
