i have a 335 and my bro has an M3
i think the m3 just looks better and it performs better in track
if you wont supercharge the m3 just buy a 335 and boost it
personally, i like the 335 more bcuz its has more tourque at low rpm and i love the turbo spool!!
good luck

Wow....depends. If just a street car the 335 is so easy to drive fast on the street because of TQ. If you have plans to track (roadrace) the M wins easy. It's ready with some brake pads/fluid change. The M is not cheap to get alot more out of. The 335 (if older N54) is so easy to gain 80 to 100 h.p. with a tune and DPs.
Don't know if it matters...but the used market for E9Xs is huge. You can pick one up now cheap if you are patient. Thats good....and bad ...there cheap...but they are everywhere.

you cant go wrong for a slightly used M3 coupe, the driving experience is totally diff from that of a 335i. as many agree DCT is a no brainer, since the shifting is utterly amazing. If you really like the blue, have it with a tan interior, it looks very sharp. Good luck and hopefully you choose an M3 and become part of the M family. Cheers!

Unless you track a lot, get the 335i.
I drove the 335i, 335xi, 335is and M3. Ended up choosing a 335i.
Torque and power delivery is better than the M3 IMO, the M3 practically wants to rev maybe not on the track but in the everyday the N55 engine is hard to beat, maximum torque at 1500rpm? That like a diesel!

I'd be very cautious about buying a 335 with all of the HPFP problems. I have an '08, have had HPFP replaced last year, took weeks to get it right, had to have VANOS changed also. Just had injectors replaced.
M3 should be much more reliable engine, handles better, sounds better, better transmission with DCT vs auto.
