New companion for my Cayman S-'11 E90 M3
Was looking for a new car for my wife, to replace a C350 she's had for a year and hates. Looked at several Audi's (S4, A7), CLS550, Panamera, IS-F in person as well as countless hours researching on the internet. Main requirements were 4 doors, sporty. After driving the only M3 we could find in town, a high-mileage '09 Coupe, we decided that was the car.
Knowing that the sedan production had just stopped, I started looking to see what was out there. The local dealer had nothing in stock or due in, I then found a few cars in Houston, 200 miles away. Passed on one car that was lightly optioned, which was ok, but I didn't like the color combo (Black/Silver interior) and was getting bad vibes from the dealership and the salesman in particular.
Found another car at Advantage BMW and after a few quick email exchanges with Frank, we quickly came to an agreement on price. They were very easy to deal with.
Ended up with a sedan in Alpine white with Black interior. Loaded with most options. Was able to get it for well under invoice after incentives and rebates with 0.9% financing for 24 months.
Drove it back to San Antonio this morning. Handles really well, steering much more connected than the 335 I got rid of a few months ago. Amazing engine, great sound, pulls strongly through the rev range, although I didn't push it much since it's not broke in yet. The DCT is a great transmission, very smooth, I'd say just as good as PDK. The tech is much better than my PCM equipped Cayman, although I do prefer the touch screen.
Overall, I think it makes a great companion to the Cayman S. Will drive it myself frequently to help keep my leased Cayman within my mileage allotment, good thing since I'm already running way over my monthly quota.

I love it my favorite color on my favorite body style. I really do think the e90 looks better than the e92 and the e93. It has a much more aggresive look to it IMO. For the money the M3 sedan is hard to beat. Great choice and a great companion to the Cayman S. Best of luck with it.

Yes it does. Was initially looking for something with less options, but really glad I got the loaded one.
