Thoughts on the new M6?

My dealer has a convertible M6 at the port as of today. I was thinking about trading my Fcar California for a 2013 Mercedes SL63, but now that the M6 is here..... I could be one of the first with the new M6.

Thoughts on it vs the new SL63 (not out yet)?

(not exactly a thought on the "vs" part, but..)

I priced the M6 against the M5 on the BMW "build it" site and the base price for the M6 is about $16k more than the M5 - to me, it's a no-brainer

(plus, personally, I don't care for the look of the M6 and would rather have the M5 - even if they cost the same..just my opinion)

((but, for me, there's no justification in upgrading from my '08 M5 to anything newer..))

the M6 is just too BIG (for my liking)

sdotbphotographs posted pics of a coupe (another thread here), which I "photoshopped" to make it look better, IMO :

the new M6 is an absolute HIT...this coming from someone that has never liked the 6 series, ever...I have always had M5's, M3's, 7's as my company cars...was to get the new M5 as usual until I saw the pictures of the new M6 Coupe....quickly switched to the 6 - July build August delivery...

The new SL is ugly. Also if you've the means for a 458 at 25 then you can probably afford other cars at the same time, so you're better off having a real supercar for kicks and a normal comfortable luxury car or truck or something when you just want to relax. It sounds like it's worked out so far.

I love both the Sl63 and new M6. Great for DD IMO, but like mentioned already are very heavy players. I honestly don't know which one I would go with until I have a chance to check them both out. I would personally keep the F-car since you already have it, but if I were in the market from scratch and wanted a badass DD for myself I would go GTR. Just my thoughts.

Just ordered a new 2013 BMW M6 Coupe. Orange with black interior. Stunning car and the 560 HP is underrated. Should take possession in October. I currently drive a 2012 X6M and my wife has the 2012 650ix convertible with the M package. Both cars are fantastic- Beautiful, great handling and great power.

the new SL isn't all that compared to the introduction of the "new" SL's of past. I say go for the M6, although within 6 months they will both be a dime a dozen. Personally i'm gonna get the M5
