Thumbs up Impressions of my VF supercharger install...

The new found power in my 540 is absolutely amazing! Sheer, raw power in every gear. The bulk of the power is from 3k to 5.5k, so it is all usable power. As the dyno shows, my car is now putting down on average 358 RWHP and 342 TQ. I did have some better runs where I was putting down 362 WHP, but the TQ was about the same. This is with the car having a stock exhaust and everything. When I had Dinan's stage 2 software and CAI, it was putting down 254 RWHP and 301 TQ. For the price, I don't think you can beat the gains of the VF Engineering kit. It uses a Vortech SQ2 supercharger, VF's rotomilled plastic ducting and cnc'd billet brackets, larger injectors, running at 7 lbs of boost. The entire kit retails for $6k + install, which is a bargain when you compare other leading companies s/c kits to VF's. For those of you considering a supercharger, but didn't want to spend $10k to $15k, take a look VF's set up. No, I am not a sales person for VF, just a happy customer.

Dustin,

Interesting post. I was just reading up on superchargers and am considering this for my '02 M3 Cab. Do you have contact information for vendor? Thanks.

Happy customers are the best advertising companies like this can get. Congratulations on the setup. Can you give some more information for the company as well as how much you paid for the package?
Thanks,
Ed

I just googled their web site and it looks like they have spent the past couple of years developing their systems. Is this the case and they are completely tested and ready or is yours one of the first installations?
Regardless the numbers look good.

You can contact Nik or Jeff at VF Engineering at 714-528-0066, or check out their website at www.vf-engineering.com.

Nik, the owner of VF, had been testing on his 2003 540/6 for a year or so. He has also done a non-vanos '97 540 with similar results. My car was the 1st production kit. It took them a little bit to do because GIAC was fine tuning the software, but the results were worth the wait. I couldn't be more pleased with the car.

FYI, VF has been doing work on Porsche and VW's for years.

I forgot to mention, the kit was $6k + install. The best bang for the buck by far.
