Thumbs up New e46 m3 records - 10.1 @ 145mph, 5.12sec 60-130mph

We took the car out and ran it's first few full passes. We flat out just overpowered the tires on all 6 passes. PIR does not prep it's track at all and it was a very ugly cold day. We tried dropping tire pressure until the car was extremely loose at the top end. We also have to install NOS to spool the turbo at the line and we just haven't gotten around to it yet. Next time out we will start adjusting the suspension as well.
I was hoping for a 9 second pass but we will get it next time. The 10.1 was with a 1.7 60 ft and traction issues. So there's a TON more in it.
FOR those wanting to understand why an auto is so brutal on the track, check out the VBOX logs from Pass 4 (the last image on this post). Not a single lapse in power anywhere on the pull.

Thanks. That's definitely next. I cut a 1.42 60 ft and 6.08 1/8 ET on my first 1/2 track pass but the tires are pretty gone now as well.

I think you need to put in a few dozen more "with traction issues."

We all know that a very high hp E46 will have traction issues, that's why everyone else has moved onto different platforms for high hp cars.

My NA E46 w/ bolt ons is still a blast to drive.

I've read about your Porsche. Nice times with that beast.

Thanks. BTW, I thought about going w/ an HPF car at one point. As you know, they are very hard to 1/4 mile, even if you are an excellent driver.

Where your car will shine is highway roll ons (in Mexico, of course). That is a stout 60-130. You could easily win a lot of money racing w/ your car. Just be sure to go from 60 or above.

I only tried a 60-130 once, when my car was making about 660 to the wheels. It ran a 5.79. I then put another $15K in her and she was making close to 800whp but I never did another 60-130. I think she would have gone low 5's, but probably not 5.15.

What kind of power are you putting down, mid to high 800's? Is your car a stage 3? In any event, rep to you for pushing barriers.

Have you done any dedicated 60-130s in this car? I bet it runs easily into the 4's.

Bolt-OnM3 is infamous around these parts
I think this car is around 1000rwhp, fully gutted, auto, pretty much everything you could do to make this car lighter/faster.

We made 817rwhp through a TH400 with Pro Torque converter. We started with a bare shell and only put things in it that was absolutely necessary.

I haven't actually. I think once we get the car to come out of the hole properly the 60-130 will drop quite a bit. I ran a 6.08 1/8th mile but let off. On that pass, the 60-130 would have been much better than the one I posted up. It's a work in progress.

Chris.
