M5 vs Panamera GTS

Read about it here: MotorTrend pits M5 against Panamera GTS

The M5 is cheaper and faster than the GTS. But numbers aren't everything... right? See how it stacks up against Porsche's AWD super sedan in the video linked above.

Oh, this review makes me want to steal a ship, drive it to Emden and go pick up my damn car!

Pretty much confirms all the pros and cons I thought about when deciding on the GTS over the M5. Mashing pedals in a straight line is just not something that interests me I guess. I've never even been to a drag strip.

So, yeah, for what I want, the GTS is it. For others, I'm sure the M5 is the better fit. I thought the reviewer did a great job of making clear why one might prefer one over the other.

I would also agree, but since I need the rear seat to hold 3 kids the M5 suits me better. If only Porsche offered a rear console delete!

Yes, true, of course. If you're a family of 5, then the Panamera is not a good fit.

Console delete would probably mean having to raise the outer seats quite a bit. The seats in the Panamera are quite low relative to the driveshaft and transmission.

The M5 is an awesome car as well.

I'm in the same boat with 3 kids. If the Panamera could seat 5 I may have switched...guess I'm stuck with the M5
