zcp is a worthless "upgrade"

you're paying a butt load for a not so wide set of wheels and not so light set of wheels pretty much

brakes are slightly bigger up front

slightly quicker steering rack

suede steering wheel

might be more or less, but zcp is nothing special

Actually BC, for those who don't want to f with their M3, the ZCP pkg is a great deal at 4k. Have you driven one? The 19's are lighter and better looking than either of the other 18 or 19 inch oem wheels, the cross drilled brakes are larger and good looking, the steering ratio is helpful on the track or in the twisties, and the alcantara is very nice. I had a modded M3 and Comp pkg M3 and I really enjoyed the comp pkg.

 

the M3 ZCP is a far nicer model than the older 01-03 models. I'm assuming BC you either no experience with the m3 or have not driven the 2 models.

If I had my choice I would easily buy the new ZCP model. The extra's you get are far worth the $4000 premium. The e46 m3 is probably one of the most practical cars to own if you live in a non-snow climate. When I moved from Chicago to here, the first thing I did was sell my S4 for a new m3

yea if you're not into modifying your car, the zcp is the way to go, but i don't fall in that crowd. i like switching up wheels, suspension and exhaust typically. i like aftermarket aerokits, but the M3 is one of the rare cars that looks perfect body wise from the factory.

$4K forces your hand on wheels and tires i don't want. it offers up a rack that doesn't improve steering feel any, brakes that don't make u "perform" better on the street or track cuz you need to swap out pads and fluid for the latter anyways and add some sort of ducting, and the awesome thing is, the suspension is softer.

and don't play this whole "do you own it or not" to have credibilty bs deal. turning your nose up on what other people have to say because they don't own it is asinine.

my m3 sits on tckline coils, camber plates, rsms and rtabs. bbs LMs with s03s and an exhaust from the UK. i don't list those to boast in any way shape or form. cuz in actuality it cost closer to $10K to do it, but minus the $4K, i spent about $6K for the superior suspension setup and the of course classic LM wheels. exhaust is whatever. makes it louder.

i don't like to F to use your letter there paul with the engine and tranny. i prefer to buy cars where the stock power is fully sufficient for my needs and the M3 has that.

 

You are right, and most people buy it because they leave their car stock though, to just say oh its a ZCP or for resale purposes. Either way i see where you are coming from, for someone like me might as well buy a regular one!

Hell no, i would never put any sides on the car, makes it look way overdone and tasteless IMO, unless the car is fully techart!

Here are some pics, and the car looks amazing as is, i had the side's and rear add on pieces but sold them, wasnt a fan!

 

it is a good looking car, but is ultimately incomplete.

the middle of the car looks curved thus giving it a "whale" look with that big scoop out front being so low and aggressive

i'm sure there are others who side with you just as there are those that would agree with me. either way, it's your car but that's just stating the obvious and anyone who needs that pointed out is someone who doesn't have the guts nor the smarts to wield this effective thing called candor per jack welch
