Getting a 2007 M5, stick or SMG??

I just drove the new M5 last night and fell in love. It is insanely fast and easy to drive... The 2007 M5 is now available with 6 speed, which should I get???

normally i would say 6 speed manual but it doesn't work well with a bulky 4 door sedan. in this case i'll say SMGIII.

For a big luxury sedan I would also have to go SMG.

I agree I have a 2006 M5 for the past 9 months and I can assure you that I also had my reservations about SMG and I was considering waiting for the 6MT, but I went ahead and pulled the trigger with the SMG and I have never looked back..I had a 2001 M5 prior and I loved the 6MT, so I figured I would really miss the ablity to shift manuelly.....In my opinion the SMG is awsome and nothing shifts as quickly... I will admit at first I didnt like the SMG, it took me about a week or 2 to get use to driving the car with SMG, but once I got comfortable with the car I LOVE IT.....I would suggest you goto the M5board.com and you will see most of the people love the SMG....Also rarely at times I will use the auto function in traffic and it works great for what it is but with the Active Autowerks ECU upgrade it works even better, but 95% of the time I find myself paddle shifting ......My car ran the 11.5 @126 with 100 shot of NOS http://www.dragtimes.com/BMW-M5-Timeslip-7809.html I had about 3,000 miles at that time and now Im at 13,000 and no issues. The best part is the SMG is holding the power with no problem, and a few other guys here locally #2 M5's and #1 M6 are running a 150 shot so far the motor and SMG have not been a problem....Jay.S

Was going to say the same thing. I'd say manual for the M6 though.
