Importing E46 M3 CSL into UNITED STATES
Would it be possible to do such thing? I always been a big fan of the M series but the CSL model takes it to a whole new level, Any info will be greatly appreciated.
I know for sure they make them in left hand drive, look below

It would be great if we could get the CSL here in the states. You can do a search on some of the BMW M3 boards. Some have tried but due to the hassle and cost, it was not worth it. I see several CSL on sale on piston heads and would love to get my hand on one if possible =)

Too much hassle, too much hassle to even bring a car from Canada here, and u want to talk about a CSL? lol good luck. People who tried to bring G class Mercedes' from Europe had to go thru all kinds of trouble dealing with the EPA/DOT.
U gotta consider taxes and duties, and those probably run on europe's high octane fuels. Also emissions, bumpers etc... everything.
What you can do that will probably be much easier and cheaper is to import and register the car in Canada, get canadian plates if you have a friend there or whatever and drive it on US soil; you should have no problems as long as you have canadian plates. Or just bring it as a "show only" car.

I think it would be doable if your local registration garage is a joke like ours. Its a M3, it looks like an M3, we have M3's stateside, and the tools that run our registration place just come out ask for the title, make sure the title matches the vin and register it.
I'm not saying it would work where you live, i'm just saying that there are two skylines in town that are not legalized but are registered for road use, so anything is possible.

Is there any way to replicate the CSL Setup intake sound? no i will not put k-n 63 intake system or afe in a s54. The stock system looks much better.
There is a CSL intake setup on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CSL-C...QQcmdZViewItem
but im not sure if you can make it work on U.S Spec e46 s54 engine.

Listen to the sound.
Dim the lights, close the shades, open the jar of vaseline and enjoy.

you should look at e46fanatics.com m3forums.com
i think a few has the intake and tried to come close to it.
to me i have always look at it from a business prespective and make decision. iit would be hard for you to resale. by the time you do all the conversion it would be a lot of money, i would opt. for a 997 C2s for that much. Just my opinion. but i know you want a csl. visit the board and i am sure someone can help.
