Oem Csl Headers?

Would they work on U.S Spec M3's, I know that Discovery Automotive sells them, they also offer ECU tuning with the headers. There are also other headers such as the Euro and SuperSprint, which one provides the best gains?

OEM CSL vrs OEM Euro Header Weights - They are NOT the same!
  • (L) Euro headers- 5.6lbs
  • (L) CSL headers- 4.6lbs
  • (S) Euro headers- 4.4
  • (S) CSL headers- 3.4
Not only are they light but some people experience some gains at top end others are saying it's crap. SuperSprint seems to come close in terms of performance, but i rather have a CSL piece on my car. CSL OEM Headers with intake, pulley, exhaust and ECU tuning should bring some good HP.

Get the stepped headers, if you cant get those get CSL. And BTW you wont get anything but marginal gains from bolt ons on this car.

you won't feel a difference unless you rev the crap out of it, power comes up top. You also save tremondous weight, and last but not least it gives bragging rights.

+/- 10lbs is no where near tremondous weight, you'll get around +/-10hp out of and entire exhaust system (headers cats midpipes and exhaust). Bragging rights? Unless you have a s/c its nothing to really brag about

My M3 with full header back(right) vs buddies M3 with intake and chip(left). We did 3-4 runs and same results with closest being nearly 2 cars ahead from 40mph to 120+.

Headers make night and day difference. Trust me. Not only it free up some ponies, it also makes the engine sooo happy to breath in and love to rev so fast. Just look at the stock cats and see yourself how restrictive it is.

Doesnt that limit top speed? it would be embrassing to be passed by a s2000 on the highway because of the gear ratios.

3k ? bro u need to do ur home work u can get the csl headers at a good price ..look up discovery automotive.. 410's are a great bang for the buck, and it limits ur top speed slightly nothing major , so i wouldnt worry about geting passed by s2000's.

headers make a big diff since ur going to be movingthe cats away from the engine.. get softawre to go along with it ...and u will be puling stock m3s.

ok...a full exhaust...especially from supersprint, with headers, cats, a non res section 2 and SS race will prob yield more around 20 crank hp. you add pullies, intake, and a tune and it will be more obv. i have 4.10 gears in my ///M, and i have to tell you, my top end still goes to about 189 according to my gear ratio.rpm chart with my 8500 rpm redline thanks to my flash. thats still very fast, and no s2000 will be passing me. also, 10 lbs of weight savings will not do much for you at all, as prev stated above. BUT, if you do the whole SS system, that saves about 110 lbs, and that will help you a tiny bit. 4.10 gears honestly make the car so much more drivable, and fun and makes 3rd and 4th gear more usable. sure 1st is fast but a lot of fast cars run through first like animals, and this car is no different. short of forced induction, i have every bolt on mod you can get besides cams and throttle bodies. my next step is prob going to be a lightweight flywheel that will save about 10 lbs of rotating mass to free up more power going to the rear wheels. so if you want the fastest NA M3 you can get, look at my sig and do those things. also, this car was meant to be NA, reving high and fast, FI is not what it was made for. would you even SC a GT3? NO WAY! it goes by the saying, you have to pay to play. whether you go full NA or FI its going to cost you. my car has about 15-20K in part and labor into it, but it moves and pulls effing hard as hell. the 4.10s make it so much more thrilling to drive than stock gears, so that would def be one of the best ways to make your car faster without serious work. free up your exhaust, get and intake, a tune and 4.10s and i think youll be happy(at leas for a little while).

well i dont have the Carrera 4 anymore. i have to say though, the C4 was a different dirivng experience. much more dedicated in its purpose. my m3 is highly modified as you can see and the C4 only had a couple small but expensive mods done to it. i have to say theyre both tons and tons of fun, but stock for stock, i would take the C4.

Could you give us a quick review of the Gruppe M kevlar intake, I heard it's not effective in providing H.P, the company doesn't even provide DYNO for the intake, people mention a slight increase in rev speed and nice sound, can you clarify?
