I can't believe its weight Anyway comparing apples to apples, and in the league the M3 is in it's numbers are damn good compared to the E46 M3, in a sense. Imagine what it would be at the same weight as E46? Damn impressive, IMO they fugged up a lot though! They said conditions werent ideal and it would run faster, amazing chassis and so on.

I actually can't wait to drive it, but all I have to say is damn I can't wait to get another E46 M3

A manual E92 would be fun in the twisties, the car isnt made specifically for the drags.

This sentence is going to ruin my finances somewhere in the next 5 years if it proves true.

I think the new M3 has a tall first gear... I'd be more interested in 80-180km/h and 100-200 km/h times.... something tells me once your out of 1st gear the car will be a rocket... but I have yet to confirm this.

Can anyone tell me the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times for the 335i? How do the two compare?

I'm waiting for the CSL...drop around 300 lbs on the car and maybe a little more HP and it will be total hit...I'd trade the E46 for that..

i posted this in a similar thread but figured i would add it here also:

my favorite quote:

"Sorry, 420-hp Audi RS 4; this one sounds better and pulls harder."

"Even so, that’s already enough to outrun the $69,785 Audi RS 4."
although, i will go on record saying that for the right price i would get an rs4...

edit: a couple more:

"With V-8 competitors like the upcoming 451-hp Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG and 400-plus-hp Lexus IS-F, and the 420-hp Audi RS 4, we’re leading up to one heck of a showdown—one that, based on our drive, the M3 has a very strong chance of winning."

"Don’t you want to experience first-hand the 8400-rpm shriek from BMW’s highest revving (and best) engine?"

This is a tough crowd... 4.4 to 60 and people complain.

FWIW, another mag tested an RS4 at 4.3 0-60. I think it'll be a driver's race between all of them.
