M3 vs Lotus??Decisions, Decisions!!!

Hey guys,

I got my M3, and im loving it (sometimes). It has already given me a few issues (fuel pump & engine computer). I was contemplating, trading it for a 2005 Lotus Elise. Keep in mind this car would be used for city driving and getting me to my college classes. I know its smaller, less practical, less comfortable. However I do love the agressive styling of it, it is definately quicker than the m3, it handles better than the M3, and its WAY better on gas than the M3.

Would it be stupid for me to trade a $40,000 BMW for a $38,000 Lotus and use it as a daily driver??? The other thing thats pulling me to it, is the fact that I am a huge attention ***** ( I can't help it) and the M3 isn't hitting that for me :-(

Ha fellow Lynn student im guessing ? Keep your M3, my buddy Adam has a set of 19'' Iforge wheels that look pretty dope on his M3 and he is selling them for 2grand. Just put those on and you will get some looks. Until the new M3 comes out Plus have you driven the Elise ? it is a bath tub on wheels and the hardest car to get in and out of ever made. It's fun for tracking but not a dd.

I've had some seat time with the elise. It has a lot of grip, good control and it's not slow either but the top end is disappointing and it's totally impractical. It's cool for a 2nd or 3rd car but definitelly not for a daily

Even for a younger kid like myself (19) ??? Will it just get really uncomfortable, or are you guys taking practicality into consideration because I am not worried about practicality!

Thanks ma!!

If you didn't read the entire post (sorry it was pretty complex and all). I said I preferred the quicker acceleration, better handling, and the gas economy. The attention part is just a piece of it, I just like being the center of attention. Sorry if that breaks your heart :-)

Why are you putting 22's on your cayenne?

What I think he was asking is, will the elise get him laid more? I'm guessing the M3 isn't getting the job done in that department right now.

I consider a practical car one that carries my family. But for the average Joe, I believe you would like space to put a bag of clothes for when you will be out of town for a couple of days...
