De-Badging Re-Naming Porsches

3166
Whats that?
$3166 a month?
$31.66 an hour?
$31,660 a year?
Man you are 36?
How old is your son in law?
18? or 20?
Many of us have been where you are and a year from now you dont want to be eating rice and beans and looking at your Porsche.
I can say that, I bought my car and then had to have a career change. I was driving my Porsche and eating Mac and Cheese for dinner everynight.
Save some money for a rainy day, I am not saying save everything you make but be real, things happen. You have to set a good example for your kid(s). And think of the future.
Why dont you open your detail business. Owning your own place is the most sure fire way to get ahead in money and quality of life.

So you are considering going to LV with the intention of bringing over three months salary to wager?? Please tell me this is all one big joke.
Have you ever paused for a minute and wondered how they build all of those casino's? I'll "bet" you it was not on the backs of a ton of winners....

He got 75k from his dad.
According to another thread he paid 70k for the car:
"Retail on the car is $66,344.00 .They are giving me $4000.00 off and doing all the Mods for a 70K total plus Tax and Tags."
After his Vegas trips he is down $2,000.
He says he has $15k left.
SO lets assume he is being honest, the numbers from the gift from his dad do not add up. Its obvious he had some savings already and used some of his own money for the car or the vegas trips.
It does not seem smart to me to act like a baller and go "gamble" 3 months income.
I love going to Vegas I go 2 times a year. I dont gamble though. The shows, the restaurants, taking my wife to the clubs. You can go have a great time and not chance your gift.
If your dad has the cash you say he does, it may be smart to play the game and try to make your dad happy with his gift. In the future there may be more where this came from.

dude, im done after this post, but imo, you are a moron..
if i were given 75k after selling a family buisness, the last thing i would do is buy a new porsche. Invest, learn, invest more, and then you'll be able to buy w/e porsche you desire.... also, please stop gambling, doesnt sound like your winning to much....
Now i am younger, but still, stop posting stupid things on this forum that will create arguments, be mature..... If you spend some time reading through this place, maybe you'll pick up on some investing ideas and the like....i know i have.
good day sir, i am done.......

CaymanGT.... you're a piece of work. Get that detail business going... since you are really good at it, why not. Once dad finds out that you are being responsible, maybe he can help with the business... it seems that he has done well for you guys.
As for the original question... Do what you like, call your Cayman anything you want... its your car. However, in the Porsche world, it is frowned upon to rebadge something that it is not... you are not ruf, strosek or techart. If your business takes off and get into tuning and get yourself a credible name... sure, you can call it a cayman gt and market it as such. However, at this point its all in your head (and thats fine too).

I was annoyed in the beginning with the OP posts, but now I feel kinda bad for him. No money management skills whatsoever it seems. Good luck with everything!
Have you ever heard your car should be around 33% of your yearly income? No offense, but you make 3166*12 = 38k a year. Are you sure you can afford the car? Life is short I know, but at 36 years old... you hopefully still have a long way to go!
I'm 30 by the way so I'm not some old fart that's trying to rain on your parade.

just chiming in that you have terrible money management skills. i'm sure it's tempting but just think about all those lottery winners that end up wasting all their money because they never knew what to do with it in the first place

Sorry to chime in...
Cayman... If you are good at detailing and hustle, I believe you can make not only $6,000.00 a month, but more...
You can use the Cayman S as a "hook" for your business... if you can make it "stand out" it'll atract customers... If you have any cash left... get yourself a used 2000 or 1999 cargo van... get some signs, and market your detailing business...
Go talk to mall owners and place your Cayman S next to your van... detail the P-Car... you'll see how soon customers show up...
