well i've been very interested in this swap, and i've been reading quite a bit over the past few months on the info i can find. But i have yet to see any videos on either a 3.4 or 3.6 swapped 986S.

Does anyone have any links or videos they can post? I'm dieing to see/hear the combination, and i feel that this would probably give me the excuse to pull the trigger on the swap

are the kinks worked out? Only reason im scared of the 3.8 is the compatibility issues with the wiring etc...

outside of the two Mini posted there are only a few more all from the same guy... I dont know if he is on here or not, but his 986S has a 3.6 controlled by a motec DME... from what he has told me his shops had no idea how to get the 3.6 to talk to the 7.2 DME in his car... so they went all out with Motec... his car is a full time track car, so all is well! it looks fast as all get out in the videos... here is one at a DE at Daytona

im assuming his troubles were due to the fact that he had an earlier car, troubles that would i would not run into with my 03' correct??

 

Yes, and yes... He (and I) have 3.2 M96's that run off the 7.2 DME, your 03 runs off the 7.8... which is the same as the 3.6... so yes you wouldn't have the same electrical problems as him or me. If you have any questions feel free to PM me... Im in the middle of my own swap right now...
