Borla exhuast on 2000 Boxster S???

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has this setup on a S and if you like it. I don't want something overly loud but the stock exhaust is way to quiet for my liking. Anyways if you have any info that would be great. Thanks

Wes

I have a Remus Exhaust and could not be Happier .You can really control the sound real well and be quiet when you want but it really screams when you get on it.Kinda a dr jeckyl and Mr Hyde experience. The Borla is one of the Loudest if not the loudest of all the exhaust I have heard and has a lot of drone that really resonates in the cabin. The Borla is Really loud all the time but some like that so it just comes down to personal taste.Max RPM (A sponser Here) in Bremerton Wa Put mine on .Great place

I think if you want something not overly loud the best bet is to get the PSE.

Remus is also reknown to have nice & deep sound as well.

Took a drive in a 2000S w/Borla and it was about a third less loud than straight pipes (ask me how I know). Still has the resonance problem, maybe 3/4 as bad.

Is this the one you have? How much did you pay for it? Is this a good price?

Wiz,
I've got the Tequipment exhaust on my car with 100 cell cats and headers. It sounds normal at low rpms. When you put your foot into it, it sounds insane! The tips are kinda cool too.

I'm planning on installing the Borla exhaust on my '04 986S as soon as it arrives (probably in a week or so). When I do, I'll get back on with a review of the sound and butt-dyno impressions (for whatever that's worth). The stock sound is just too wimpy for me; I've read great things about Borla and love the sound clips that I have heard on YouTube and on Cayman Club.

More to follow...

I second that....IMO, PSE is one of the best exhaust for the Box.
No drone, very tamed.

Muffler modifications only should not affect your current emissions level. My rule of thumb (to play safe) is as long as the mod is AFTER the cat converter, you should be OK.

Oh yeah... Understand that completely. There is a noise limit in California as well that most people forget about and from what has been described, the borla may be a little too close for comfort for me personally.
