A Cab for the week-ends sounds nice.

F-it......Get both and a lift so that you can drive whichever you want depending on your mood. Why do you think so many folks on this site have multiple cars. Each does something well. Hell, I'm looking for an Aston just so I can buy an ascot.

Just ask yourself, do you want to own a mid-engine sports car?

Had the same dilema a few years ago. To me the 987s is one of the most fun cars to drive ever. Have had mine for almost 4 years and still love it. Especially with the top down!

Especially as a 3rd car there's no question. Boxster S all the way.

Boxster S is more fun to drive, top goes down and will get you much more attention. The M3 would only be my choice if I had kids.

I've never owned a Boxster, but I currently have a Cayman S, and I assume the handling is substantially similar. I owned two E46 M3's. The cars are very different, and if you test drive both, I don't really see how you can have a dilemma. The Porsche is very neutral in its handling, with more communicative brakes and steering. The BMW requires some work to get its handling in the same class. So, seems to me it's a matter of superior handling v. the utility of a 4 seater and trunk. What is your priority?

A Z4M Roadster would be perfect.

Much more nimble and fun to drive than an E46 M3 and the engine is a lot more powerful than the 05 Boxster S.

Steering feel is still not as good as Boxster S, but it's still more fun than an E46 M3.

Get an 06 M Roadster. They are identical as the 08's.
