Gonna checkout 2006 Cayman S. Any tips?
Since I am quite new to the model are there any things I should look out for when checking out this car. It is a 2006 with 40.000miles.
Its not at an official Porsche dealer. It's being sold by an Audi dealer as "approved 2nd hand car" on which they give warranty after some kind of 110 point check they did.
Thanks!

This is Europe eh, so I don't know if you can compare the prices.
38.800€ is the asking price.
It is a fully loaded car. 19" Carrera Sport wheels, sportseats, leather, navigation, PASM ...

Ahh, I should've checked your location! I'm used to responding to people in car forums that are only in the US.
In that case, can't really help you with the price. All I know is that I was in Europe for my honeymoon last summer and the $1.6 to 1 euro exchange rate definitely didn't help our budget!

That's a fair number of miles. I got a 2006 with 4,500 miles, mint condition, over $80,000 sticker and over $5,000 in suspension upgrades and other mods for $45,000. That was a very good deal, but you should try for something close.

There are a couple of things to check out on the 2006 cars.
There were some issues with the pressure plates coming loose, ultimately causing the car to need a new clutch. This seems to have effected some of the earliest production units. Check the health of the clutch very closely.
There was a problem with the oil pressure release valve that would cause the valve to chirp when the engine was cold. There was an easy service fix for this. Check to see if this was done.
Many of the early 2006s threw check engine lights due to ineffective cat converters. The cat converter was changed to make it more effective. Check to see if your car has the newer cat converters (on the headers).
If it were me, I'd want to buy it from a Porsche dealer, where they can pull the service history and show you what's been done to address these items.
Is the car under warranty? If so, you can buy it and take it to a Porsche dealership to check.
