Seriously just buy another car. mod + mod + mod doesn't always = x. And the thought of doing a transmission swap with those mods is really expensive for hardly no gains. Check out turbowerx to see if they can do a 2.7 kit. I know they have them for the 2.5 & 3.2. The problem with the 2.7 is the compression is really high so some extra work be involved.

Why horse around with all that bolt on stuff. If you really want it to go drop a 3.6l in there... just don't tell daddy.

(remember the curb weight for the Boxster)

I'm planning on getting all these parts this month, and we'll see what happens against my friend's m3.

If i happen to change my mind, I'm buying a GSX-R 600.

Dad won't let me change for a 911 anyway so let's go for this and see what happens.

BTW, How much would a transmission swap cost? if its more than $2,500, screw it i'll do that later.
Hate to break it to you, but the 2.7L boxster with those bolt ons you mentioned (intake, headers, exhuast, chip, tranny swap) won't get you anywhere near 290hp... Somewhere between 225-240hp (crank) is more realistic...

Sounds like a fun project to fast-n-furirize the boxster. I dont know about you, but I enjoy tip. Makes driving in traffic a breeze. Also, won't have to worry about "getting off the line quick enough," you just stomp on that pedal. Anyway, good luck, you're very lucky to have such a sweet car at 17 bro.

Unfortunately we dont do the turbo for a non-s 986, especially a tip... we have installed the parts on a 986S with a 6speed though.

I don't know of anyone with a 986 that went FI on a stock motor was able to keep driving it without having to revert back to stock or go 3.6/3.8L upgrade.

Yep,

I do have a twin turbo kit on my 99 Boxster I am over 170,000 miles on the car and drive it 5 days out of the week.

As prices have come down on engines and shops are not as busy as they where a few years ago, I would highly consider dropping a modified 3.4 into the car.
