Porsche vs Dodge

Will the 987 boxster with the 295hp engine run with the new dodge challenger SRT with 425HP?

No but with a proper launch the 310hp DCT Boxter will run with an automatic with or a perfectly shifted manual with a perfect launch. Edge to the Porsche with launch control and a decent surface.

From a roll, it probably comes down to the gearing/powerband of each car at a given speed.

If the SRT-8 is tuned, the Porsche will lose. Yes, I know about the twistys blah blah blah!

. . . and if you took cranberries and stewed them like applesauce would they taste more like prunes than rhubarb does?

I thought for sure this was a thread with pictures of an accident between a Boxster and a Dodge because no one would actually be comparing the two.

There will always be something faster. There will usually be something cheaper and faster. Such is life.

If you don't like the question, don't answer.

Obviously the OP wants to know and the guy in the Cayman who comes up on the SRT-8 at the light or while rolling and decides to have fun wants to know too.

At least now there is a Cayman that actually has a chance.

So we are talking just straight out then right? No "twistys"? I guess the SRT8 might have it but I think the Porsche could do it day after day while the SRT8 will lose the HP run after run until it would be even.

Nothing like a porsche.....SRT and many other cars may be faster than boxster and cayman but NON of them will give u the same fun and stability when you ride!!
before i test the 2009 boxster S to buy a convertable, i did test Audi, BMWs, Lexus (Currently have lexus too) and believe it or not, NON did give the same feelings of a porsche...its just different.... if u want speed an Evolution will be even faster than SRT or even corvett!! enjoy the engine on a run or two but a boring car? or a fast fun car that will last for years??????you go PORSCHE....

Not unless modded. Even worse for the Evo X.

Thanks, street tires, intake, tune, exhaust. In negative DA the guys with those mods are running similar ETs but 113-114mph trap speeds.

The Porsche rocks but this is an apples to watermelons comparison....

The SRT's have really good brakes, they just are very noisy.
