Wow.. Awesome project. Makes me regret selling my CS and not going the full length with it.

Put the Cayman S and TPC kit through the paces this weekend. Car was truly amazing. Had fun. Shot the video with a Hoyttech MSR-200 HD cam. We were shooting exterior shots with it mounted on the front bumper. Normally this is a solid mount but the wind did not agree and ripped the cam from car and it shot over the car. We stopped and picked up the unit which was in perfect shape suprisingly. The suction mount was broken off. The bad news is all our good footage was losted as the SD card popped off and after looking for it on the side of the highway for 1 hour, we could not locate it. We did have another SD card so shot some new footage! Enjoy the video

That certainly looks like a very cool kit, nice and clean, and well thought out. I was curious if you have seen any increase in the gearbox temps? It looks like you have quite a bit of plumbing running fairly close to the gearbox. Have you considered an external pump and cooler for the gearbox to help bleed off the heat that the case is going to soak in?

Just a thought. Really nice job everyone.

TPC says the kit works fine with stock but for better power delivery, they recommend a Quaife or Guards LSD. Not required, but on any car, a good upgrade. I have owned 3 Porsche 911 now and have not upgraded this part myself.

With an ambient temp of 105F, its hard to make any good numbers on 91octane. But we have finished this car up and it drives well. Any person looking to spend money on more HP should look at the TPC kit. Mid range power is quite impressive. Once it cools down here in AZ, we will do another dyno.

So here is the wrap up on the Cayman S with the TPC turbo kit...

We delivered the car to the customer who was very happy. We decided to add a Greddy Boost Controller to the unit and set the boost at 5psi. We hid the unit in the glove box which will allow the customer to change if necessary. Here in AZ it is very hot right now and we only have 91oct gas. The wastegate spring pressure would only make about 3.5psi so we we needed more boost to be on target. Since this is a daily driver, we never wanted to test with octane booster or race gas as that would not make sense in this case. We like to give our independent results. As you can see from the YouTube video above, this car is a blast to drive. The overall quality I would give is a 8 out of 10 as some aspects of the kit are just tough given the space and function to make a certain way. The only thing I would personally add to the kit is a blow off valve on the intercooler pipe to relieve the pressure between shifts. Even though it is only making 5psi, there is still a small amount of compressor surge. The installation is a long and tough one. 35hours is what is quoted, but get ready for about 50hours.

Now for the numbers... This car came to us with a couple of mods: Milltek exhaust, Milltek high flow cat headers, IPD Plenum, and REVO ECU Flash. This put the baseline at 256rwhp and 225ft/lbs of torque. Ambient temperature of about 100F. Our best dyno on 91oct and 5.5psi and 100F was 315rwhp as seen here. People doing the math will say that is only a 60HP gain? TPC shows a 150HP gain... Wait. Understand that this baseline had all the mods that most of you do now. TPC tested a BONE stock Cayman S using 93oct and ambient temperature of around 68F. Both the temperature and higher octane makes a HUGE HUGE difference in the cars performance. So there is 2 ways to look at this. First, the turbo kit gains 60HP over standard bolt on mods, not bad. If you look at another Cayman S baseline we did here, you will see that the car on our Mustang Dyno baselined at 218rwhp and 193ft/lbs of torque. Same ambient temp, same Cayman S, same dyno. So really we gained about 100rwhp and 100ft/lbs of torque with the TPC Turbo Kit for the Cayman S. Having had the TPC Supercharger on my own 996C2, we also gained 100rwhp on 91oct proven on our dyno.

So lets talk real world $$$ per horsepower so you can decide how to spend your money.

Now what would you do Check out all the TPC Turbo Options Here.

218 on a base line only equals about 250 hp correct ? you sure your base line dyno is not a cayman 2.7 liter ?
      seems a little low IMO

TPC TURBO = the best mod money can buy for performance !!!

now who wants to buy my 6k in bolt ons ?
