If you find one for 35K add another 13K in the TPC Turbo and call it a day, I don't think you will ever complain about HP.

drop 48 k and no warranty plus it still wont stay with a z06

i,m new also ...this is my first po.....some folks rave about the gen2 09 up cars with their new more powerful engine....which makes me scratch my head in disbelief, what were/are the gen1 owners bragging about BUT they are a well made car. will i buy another ? no

I don't know about it being a "main concern" but I think any sports car should have good acceleration. The issue becomes what is "good" acceleration?

after 30 years of corvettes [my last one was an 07 z06] i wanted to slow down......i sure got my wish

OP, I'm coming from the E46 world as well (330, so nowhere near the M3 power). I've test driven a couple boxsters now, and the acceleration and power are both improvements for me, but coming from the M3, you may find the CS to be a little ... anemic.
If you're looking for raw straighline power, then these are not the cars for you.
And yeah, prices are holding pretty steady even in winter. A friend of mine that used to work at a used euro car lot explained it as a guy that's going to drop money on a porsche is either looking for something to make his d!ck bigger, or he's looking for a sports car. The former doesn't care when he buys, and the latter is going to be looking for a good deal, but probably won't be shopping year round. So you tell him prices will be lower in winter, and then keep them the same. He thinks he's getting a deal, you make the sale, and everybody's happy.

Either way .. the used market is priced out .
Better off having no car at all than chasing after a climbing pricetag on a depreciating item.

I'd say raise your budget slightly and have patience.
I was looking for months for the right car to come along, optioned the way I wanted, CPO'd with a warranty and at the price point I was willing to pay.
I think I got a great deal paying less than $40k for a car that had an sticker of nearly $80k.

definitely. Keep hunting, and wait for cars to sit on a lot for a month. Prices will drop.

Agreed !!!! But unless one absolutely loves the Cayman S he may find that with lower production even those are high compared to a discounted 997.

I noticed a big difference in price for a non S and a S. For instance you can get an 07 non S mid 30's all day but it's hard to even get a 06 S for 35. Rob are you thinking about making the Lotus for Porsche trade too?
