I recently put RE050A's on my wife's 993CS2 and I was so impressed with them I put RE11s on my 997TT. Seem great for the street thus far and I even did one cold, wet track day with them at Infineon. No complaints yet. I can't wait for some warmer dry weather to really get a better feel for them. They did hold consistent grip for about 22-24 minutes while running 30 minute sessions. Grip was good, they would just start getting a bit loose for the last 2 or 3 laps.

BTW: Great pricing on the RE11’s as well. Another street tire of interest to me is the new Michelin Pilot Super Super...$1500 for all four from TireRack for 235/35 and 305/30s
Some of my friends are running the new Falkens Azenis RT615k and are rather impressed with their performance and pricing.

I didn't realize they had come out with larger sizes now. I remember when I was looking at RE11s for fitment on a 996TT, they made the front size but not the rear size. Perhaps the 997 is different enough or they've expanded the sizes since I last checked.

while kind of costly probably the stickiest street tire you can get is a yokohama ad08, they are an insanely fast street tire, and often can run similar, albeit slightly slower, times then an all out r compound. there really isnt any other street tire that can even come close to ad08's IMO.

We've had amazing results with AD08s and we recommend these to all our customers.

Well our season has finally started here in NorCal after what seemed to be the longest three months ever. My last track event was at Infineon and it was cold and wet, 54º (11.21.10). I opted to run a new set of Bridgestone RE-11’s in lieu of my MPS CUP’s (which I was never that crazy about). I had a fairy decent day on them once the sun came out. They would start to let go around 24 minutes into a 30 minute session.
After 25 of the last 29 days of rain here our Laguna date finally arrived on 3.25. Needless to say it was pouring rain, therefore once again I chose my RE-11’s over a freshly mounted set of R6’s (I can’t wait to run these). I must say I was very impressed with their wet weather performance (the RE-11-s). The car had plenty of grip and I never once went for a spin. The first three morning sessions were very wet and cold, 46º. The sun came out after lunch and dried a completely green track for us to rubber in (which didn’t really happen) but my car and tires were loving it! High temp for the day 54º. My tires were very predictable and held their grip for the full 30 minute run sessions. Also I must add my AP Racing CUP rotors and Pagid RS19’s were PHENOMENAL! NO ISSUES whatsoever...insane power and flawless integration with the PCCB system.
If any of you Turbo, C4S, or C2 owners ever have the opportunity to drive your car within your maximum comfort limit in adverse conditions, you owe to yourself to do so. I‘d have to say my car shined throughout the entire day...set-up, suspension, power, brakes, and tires...it was truly amazing, and a testament to these vehicles and their intended purpose.
Get out and drive!
R6 report to come....
