alarm chirp

I just purchased my base 07 Cayman. I am loving it. Question though: I would like to know if it is possible to make the alarm chirp upon locking the doors, it is annoying having to look for the 2 light blinks to ensure that the car doors are locked. Suggestions?

with a 996 you can unplug any one of the interior switches, like glove box, arm rest box lid, and it will then beep every time you lock. It fools the alarm to think the lid is open, but the system still works

On the 987's the alarm will chirp if your door or trunk lids are ajar. You'll have to check the manual, but I recall it can be re-programmed to chirp by the dealer. Alternatively, you can buy the SmartTop (smartop?) module for couple hundred bux that will allow you to not only program the alarm to chirp, but also allows you to open/close the windows via remote.

I dont think it can be programmed, if so everybody would have it. unplug the switch at the glove box or console lock, inside the lock mechanism. for example.
