Thank god my clutch went out - saved my engine - IMS eminent failure
This is the year of transmission expense for me. CTT replacement $8K.
So the weather is getting better and I take the 02 986S out for a spin. Huh!? clutch pedal feels odd. Car shifts fine, but something is dragging and vibrating just a bit.
Back to Matrix to see what is up. No fluid leaks in the MC, so take it apart to see what is up.
Pressure plate looks a bit odd:
And then I get the second call - You might want to come down to see this. OH NO!
IMS is moments away from engine BOOOM!
Oh well - LN replacement is on the way. Glad we found it this way as opposed to 200miles out, in the middle of the night, on a dark and twisty...with, heaven forbid, the wife driving.
Add new clutch, rear pads, driver's side window sensor to the bill and I pick it up tonight.
