This eBay auction just ended:

Anyone else do a conversion? If so, how involved is it, how much did it cost and how did you get the 3.8 motor?

I have a baffled oil pan in my car but if I ever need an engine replacement, this would be incredible.

I'm in the middle of doing an 04 986 conversion with a 997.2 3.8 S engine, a little more difficult and expensive than need be. However you should look for an 07 or 08 997S X51 engine that can be converted quite easily into your car. I bought my motor from La Dismantlers and they usually have a lot of engines for sale. There is another outfit in Georgia that does the conversions for you with a new engine but you will pay premium. you should be able to purchase an X51 motor for around $ 12k install if you pay someone to do it would be around 7 - 10 k , keeping in mind you would most likely put in new flywheel , clutch etc. and tune the DME. I know its a bit pricey but it's worth every penny. Let me know if I can help.
