Softronic ECU Modification

Hello everyone, I have a 2007 Porsche Cayman (bone stock). I love it and it has plenty of power for my liking, however I came across this modification product called Softronic. It claims to increase hp by 15. Is there any detriment of doing a modification like this? I am not a racer, I don't track myt car, I am just a normal driver that would like to increase the fun factor a little more. Anyone have experience positive or negative to the install? Are there any mechanical issue that I should worry about after doing the install?
Thank you in advance.

from what I've read and seen on this and other forums, Softronic is a very reputable company that is fairly easy to work with. That being said, I think you want to spend money on intake, exhaust, and a TB first, then use the softronic to fine tune everything. I think just the softronic software may not be worth it if you cant get better breathing from the engine.

I have the Softronic, full Milltek exhaust, under drive pulley, and lightweight flywheel. No intake mods yet, as I am dubious about the gains from them. 15 hp maybe optimistic, but the Sport Chrono which comes with the Softronic sharpens throttle response, as does the LWFW and exhaust. Good luck!

the 15 horse gain is not optimistic. I installed my software before I made other upgrades and its was definitely a kick in the pants. Having said that, the danger is that you will get accustomed to that power gain and then proceed on an ongoing spiral of upgrades.
