2much, what kind of personal maintenance do you do for your car for track days?

I used to do all the basic maintenance on my bikes, i just learned it. I got tired of wasting $$ at the shops.. ive never worked on cars...( but i can learn) but for track days... changing oil, changing tires, brake pads / rotors, basic track maintenance on the fly to extend the weekend in case of the unexpected...
or anyone else... how do i start to learn this? what range of tools do i need for my house? jacks, ramps, stands... etc... power drill etc...

just asking cause i dont want to pay for oil changes when i can do it myself, plus it will giving me something to do and keep me in the gargage longer other than just standing there starring at my car!

any input appreciated.. i will have the car checked from time to time but anything i can do myself i want to do myself...

Jacks and stands,
Metric socket set and wrench set. Typical set sold at sears. Something like 7mm - 16mm
Power bleeder to bleed brakes
Breaker bar and torque wrench, 19mm socket for wheel removal
8mm Allen key (iirc for oil change), 10 qts oil pan to catch used oil.

Plenty of how to articles already published for our cars... Google will help you find them. Enjoy.

If you are not already invested in a jack and jack stands, look at the Jackpoint Jackstands. Pricey but very effective.

The Mikefocke 986 site is a pretty complete resource for basic maintenance repairs and troubleshooting. 90% will apply to your car. I recommend it.
