what the heck is the point of going with a wider wheel if you can't put wider rubber on it???

I've been looking at getting OZ ultraleggera HLT's with 245f 295r with an 11" wheel in the rear but I couldn't find any info about the offset needed and whether it would fit or not.

Who said you couldn't put a wider tire on there? I've been as high as a 305 on my rear with no issues.

A lot of people run 19x11et40's with 295 tires with no issues at all. I think its safe to assume the Spyder's run all the same suspension components

I guess I was wondering why you would go to an 11" wide wheel but still run the stock 265 diameter tire?

what do you mean by it's safe to assume the Spyder's run all the same suspension components? As far as I know the suspension on the Spyder/CR is quite different than the standard Boxster/CS.

Well the offset for my wheels is a lot lower than most people would even want to run on their 987's. To make them work, I needed to slightly stretch the tire and I also like the look of the slightly stretched tire. Putting the wider rear tire would also make my car want to understeer more, considering that I didn't go with a wider front tire.

The suspension from the Spyders/CR's are different in aspect of spring rate and strut dampening but still interchangeable with standard CS's and Boxsters though. Also control arm lengths and body width are the same so offsets should work across the 987 body styles

We have done many 19x8.5F 19x11R. The 996/997 widebody aftermarket fitments are ideal for the 987 platform - that includes the Spyder and CR. The 11" allows to run up to a 305 at the rear - a great setup for TPC turbo cars or those that prefer a more "stable" or "understeer" focused setup or those that simply want more meat at the back.

With a custom forged wheel we could do a 19x9F w/255 and 19x11R w/295 for optimal grip.

Here's a Cayman on Ruger Mesh.

I gotta say it. This would never happen on the GT2 board. Never.

Show some 987 pride and post image, OK?
